The FA CUP Third Round ** Spoilers ** [5th - 8th January 2018] + Replays

How does VVD already look more settled and commanding than Karius

Depressing seeing Ox, he's like a changed man under Klopp :(

Puts a very bad light on Arsene's man management.

He doesn't look much different. Lots of running around, the occasional bit of skill, but little to no end product.

Likeable guy who always puts a shift in, but he's not a top player.

Not sure how he's overrated when he's scoring good goals. Who overrated him anyway? ;)

My main issue is before he started scoring goals. He's seen as some youngster with a load of potential when he's bloody 25.

He's doing well at the mo but lets see it over a few seasons and we will discuss it then because as of right now he has a one in 6 record.

Awful game but you expect that when you play against a Fat Sam team but we've ground out another win and big Verg makes himself a hero on his debut
Right call from Fat Sam, Rooney was going to get himself sent off, you could tell he desperately wanted to hack Ox when he was breaking in that last attack.
He pulled Ox back! I keep saying it but we're the most naive side in the world - Ox goes down or just pulls up on his run and Rooney's off. Same story when Robertson skins Bolasie in the area - Bolasie takes a huge swing at Robertson and he skips over it rather than take the penalty.

So so performance but a great win.

VVD looked at home from the first minute, Mane was immense considering he was in Africa 24 hours ago but Karius was a car crash, Can was dreadful and Lallana woefully short of match fitness.

We also had a massive Coutinho shaped hole in the team which we'll need to address if he goes during the transfer window along with a new keeper and a DM.

Can AND coutinho going will be a big big blow

You realised of course he started Van Gaal's first game and got injured and missed the majority of that season from that injury (21/22 at the time)

Puts a totally different angle on the light you want to put on him

Its also only this season he has gotten more chance to play in his favoured no 10 role (or a more free role at the very least)

Of course he needs to do this for seasons to come , but no need to **** him off either

I think this is the first season where he has actually got a consistant run of games - and he didn't even get a look in until late Nov
