But why is he only playing half his potential? Wenger I believe is the problem. That's why you get rid of players like Walcott who have been playing at 50% for about 5 years now.
This is just Arsenal bearing the fruit of holding on to crap like Welbeck, Walcott, Wilshere etc instead of replacing them. He can't improve players, he can't identify weaknesses in the squad and has the arrogance not to leave a few gamechangers on the bench just in case it went wrong. Total arrogance. Even if the 2nd penalty was chalked off it still would have been 3-2, and it's not like Forest scraped it either. That Brereton lad totally skinned Rob Holding alive.
The Welbeck transfer was an odd one really (or just a bad one!). He had sooooo much game time. If he only had a few chances and Arsenal thought with more game time he would improve then fair enough. But United played him loads so... Odd (bad!).WIlshere has been our best player over the past month, he was also brilliant when he came into the team and 90% of the time he plays. His only issue is injury and 95% of that is how Wenger plays him, in the team, play 98% of all games right up till injured. Bad injury keeps them out for ages, instead of sensible rotation and building players up he brings them in to play every single game again till they get injured. Wilshere had a quality Welbeck and Walcott haven't ever come close to showing. Walcott and Welbeck don't have injury issues, they have struggle to play football well issues. We've also bought numerous central midfielders since Wilshere was last a part of the starting team, almost all poor buys. With Walcott Wenger has taken over a decade with him and continuously throws new contracts and more money at a guy who never at any stage has moved on from the player who joined us at 16.
Welbeck was just embarrassing, as bad as getting Silvestre, here's a guy who has failed miserably at a top club, he just doesn't have anywhere near the quality required or in Silvestre's case, he's declined to the point of not being useful for a title competing team.... so Arsenal got both. Both transfers were as absurd as each other, I can't think of a single fan who wanted SIlvestre and didn't think the idea was laughable. Utd fans were laughing about pawning off a player who had declined so much for actual money and to weaken us. Welbeck, a few more fans wanted to keep him but LVG/Utd were right to get rid, very few Arsenal fans thought he was anything but a lumbering oaf in front of goal and the idea of 16mil and 100k a week was crazy for a player who was being shoved out the door at Utd on a fraction of that money because they knew he wasn't good enough.
exactly. he along with many of the players fielded yesterday are miles ahead of league 1 players from forest and therefore our lineup was good enough to beat Forest.Walcott is not a world beater but he is a much better player than people give him credit for. He was one of our most productive players last season, scored 19 goals in 37 games but since Wenger moved to 3 at the back he's barely got a look in in the premier league. He's looked completely out of confidence in the cup games I've seen him in.

Its just that the players we had did not perform even half of what they are capable of
OK but still. Any premier league player is far better than a championship mid table sideForest are a Championship team fella.
"far" better really? Not sure I agree with thatOK but still. Any premier league player is far better than a championship mid table side

Last Yeovil v Man U game was pretty good actually - hopefully its not completely one sided this time around.
So 1 game in and we've already got some VAR controversy.
I don't think it will be all one sided, I think Utd should be able to put up a bit of a contest.
The fact that they didn't use the 1 camera angle that gave you a clear view of the incident is what's controversial. Can you imagine the reaction had they ended up making a mistake as a result of not checking that angle?I think the VAR controversy was more than a little bit manufactured by BT Sports!
