The Fashion Thread... personal tastes, musings, and recommendations

The RL gear bought by the majority of people = overpriced department store tat. They do as Mag mentioned some brilliant stuff, though you won't find it in House of Fraser.

Do the polos still have the horrifically large RL logo on them?

They still sell the 'Big Pony' collection, but it isn't really my cup of tea. I just bought a couple of their classic design polos to brighten up my wardrobe a bit ahead of summer.

Excellent post though, some fantastic points.

Anyone recommend some good shirts and trousers? I know i sound like an old man, but I like the simplicity of black shoes, trousers and shirts.

Boring I know. :p

Having just spent £205 on 2 Polo's, a V Neck and a Driving Cap at RalphLaurenUK I found myself wondering what the general opinion on Ralph Lauren clothing was on these boards?

Classic 'preppy' clothing deserving of it's price tag?

Overpriced tosh with all the 'class' slowly whittled away by the hoards of peasants now sporting it's logo?

I like their polos and shirts. They do a slim fit collection and it fits me well. The shirts are nice for summer and I like their pastel pinks.

Deserving of its price tag? Probably not, but do you overpay for awful quality, or do you overpay even more for better quality but still not represenative of its price? I prefer the latter.

I don't like the big pony however. Big logos to me are a no no, but small is fine.

I'm actually about to order two more of their shirts today, a blue one, and a lavender one :). Although at this rate there won't be a summer this year .

If you are in London, go to Sacoor Brothers for shirts... Lovely and they often have 3 for £100 in there - which is great as they are lovely- make TM Lewin, CT, etc look like cheap tat :)

Also their suits are nice... I paid £530 for 2 suits and three shirts in there a few weeks ago - a bargain for the quality you get IMO :)

Just looked on their website and they all seem to be casual shirts?

Do they do formal, work shirts as well?

I'm looking for a watch. Something vintage and classy. Please no links to the tacky white watches people seem to be wearing lately.

Agghhh I just made a very emotional purchase hehe... the Adidas Star Wars Rebel X-Wing Military Hoodie Jacket...

I saw it on someone the other day and straight away I was like "Where did you get that". Very limited edition though apparently so went out of stock here very quickly. :o

There's a dedicated watch thread for that, may be more suitable for you. :)

bought this today. £42.50 but the material is lovely, the fit is perfect (allsaints small), and it goes very well with the sort of clothes I wear :)

Narh, I already worn one with a topless female in a legs open position with one hand in her underwear.

Nothing. No reaction from people. Although I was in Brighton at the time. :p

I'd say a t-shirt saying "Jesus is a ****"(C word) in big lettering on the front with a naked nun pleasuring herself is a bit worse than that ;)
