I really don't like battle royals, it's overdone to death...

BUT, this game, it's bloody brilliant fun! The mini games and map sizes are perfect for the gameplay it's self. I just wish I could disable DLSS, AA is forced which is crap.

Yeah, I like the model tbh. Some people, like me, will pay £8 for the battlepass mainly because I feel like it's the right thing to do for a game that is giving me a lot of pleasure. Some people can simply enjoy a free game. As long as they make enough to keep it going, it's all good.

I'm really struggling with this since the weekend updates. It might just be causal people dipping out of the game but every game I play now feels like I'm playing in some kind of worlds tournament :D. Granted I'm just playing the quickplay mode where you bank the coin(s) from the kills but it's frustrating when my team doesn't stick together and I'm getting ganked by full teams.

Also I really don't like that skyscraper map. It feels too big for the number of players in the game, and it's really frustrating you when take an oopsie of the edge by mistake and have to wait to respawn only for it to be the other side of the map!

Join our Discord Benji - there's nine of us now and we're always looking for more players to team up with :)

ah, only started playing it last night, although spent a lot of time on the beta's. I can see why they've done it but I was a bit shocked when I first saw it.

Off to grinding 48 games I go.. :D
Hey, you're welcome to join us!

I decided to give this a go, the tiny 15gb size more than anything sold it for me. It runs well on my aging 2070 Super (purposefully put all settings on low though for performance).

Gameplay is simple but fun, granted I've literally only played 2 games. The lack of personality or identity of who you're fighting other than "coloured human outline" leaves a little to be desired, and it doesn't feel quite as polished as say Apex in the movement or gun feel aspects, but I can see it entering my rotation for a quick game now and then.

The default set of cosmetic choices are pretty limited but you do earn new pieces for free as you level up - most of the people I play against are wearing the default stuff but I'm sure that'll change over time. The battle pass is all cosmetics as are all the items in the store so Embark are clearly hoping players will drop some cash to make their characters more unique.

Been playing this a bit, anyone else feel the light class with invisibility and the stun is op?
They're a constant pain-in-my-ass, but nah - light's are sooo fragile that it counters all their neat toys.

Stun used to be worse in the beta - now you can still turn and shoot whilst stunned.

Lights are annoying if you're playing solo - but if you're playing with one other person / in a party you can just kill them so quickly that they barely have a chance to do anything.

The only thing that I cannot stand is that sodding double barrel shotgun they have.

I need to.give the game a bit more time but in the 10ish games I.have played the amount of explosive deaths from heavies with rpgs or such has been quite annoying. Surprised the games doesn't just have a tdm mode (not ranked and just for fun etc) as the gun play etc is quite fun.

I think new game modes will appear in time, but I also think it's important for a new entry in the competitive fps space to have a strong identity of its own - as a live service game, I think it's wise to focus on doing 'one thing well' and building your dedicated player-base before attempting to diversify to bring in additional players.

The 'bank it' mode is already a step in that direction (it wasn't present in the closed beta) - allowing players to roam the map taking down other teams for coins instead of opening vaults if they choose - but it still keeps the 'big-money game-show' vibe The Finals is going for.

BTW, we're always looking for new players to join us :D

Just uninstalled this. It was fun every now and then but the prevalence of cheaters spoiled it. Any time I thought about playing I just remembered the last time I quit out of a match and then found something else to play. So many players are using the 2 quick game modes as a death match rather than going for the vaults. Frustrating and I'm sick of getting insta killed by some invisible shotgun or sword wielding player. A few other things were grating, this just feels like a kids game rather than something for me. Really good idea though, I wanted to enjoy it.
