I'll offically getting old  - I know it when I try and play games like this...

ridiculously fast paced, time to kill takes ages (used to more of the Tarkov 1 hit headshots etc)... seems "messy" to work out what's going on sometimes.....
doesn't feel like much "skill" involved - more just knowing the maps/hiding places etc

Good to see new stuff popping up like this but I know my time has come and gone for FPS games somewhat now....

Always be dota ;x

The reviews are actually wrong. For this release they set the default fov to 71, but the beta was higher, which influence the perceived speed. Set it to 80-90 and it’ll be the same - developers have also confirmed that they didn’t nerf movement but have tweaked some animations.

Personally I’m happy with the pace but have only played medium.
Which setting are you referring to?

Yeah, I felt this initially. I couldn't really understand what was going on, what I needed to do and how I was supposed to do it. Gradually I think I've worked it out.

As mentioned about, it seems that if you get lucky and have a team that wants to work together, it can be great fun. I thought I'd enabled voice comms and mapped a PTT key, but I couldn't tell if it was working. I assume there should be a sign that I'm 'transmitting'?

Yeah, agree with @Mesai, once you bump your FOV back up to the beta number then it feels identical.

I'm really enjoying it so far, managed to get that 3 wins in a row trophy/achievement which I thought was going to be quite tough! Definitely helps playing with at least one other person in a party, I'm finding solo queueing is giving me the occasional double light players who want to run in and 1v3 everyone and then immediately die and leave the game...

We're finding two Mediums & 1 Heavy seems to work best for how we play, 1 medium with turret and 1 with heals.

I still get anxiety every time I see a light run towards me with that sodding sword.

Double light is fear inducing - either it's a hard throw or they're borderline hacking.

Best games I've had is with at least a second medium and we play with the same mindset, actually heal each other, etc. I had 1 cashout game where the entire lobby was playing deathmatch, including my teammates, so I took the cash and just camped out the cash machine to win.

Yeah, I had a few games this morning where I was just getting annoyed at the deathmatch mentality. If I see a teammate running round with $6k plus, I follow them, try and keep them alive etc so we can cashout. I think at one point this morning I had £20k (a couple of kills I made were they had clearly built up... maybe due to DM mentality), I looked over at my team mate who just ran off and seconds later I was mown down by another team...

I assume there are ranks and such? At the moment I'm not finding it too hard, but I assume I will soon be pitted against better players.

Is there any want for some of us to team up of an evening?

PSA for anyone thinking of buying the battlepass - the 'Starter Pack' in the store is essentially free if you have the coins for the bp since it refunds you the cost of the pack - so buy the coins (£8.39), get the starter pack then get the bp (or just hang on to the coins).

The stuff in the starter pack is fluff (some prismatic skins and a sticker) but as a freebie it's nice enough :)

Just not feeling the controls vs the beta for some reason. (Yes, I have updated to 90 )

I have changed keyboard since the beta, so possibly to do with that.

I'm struggling to select what I want at times it seems.

Is this game worth checking out? As soon i saw 'ex-dice employees' i kinda sat up for a moment. BF2 was such a great game!
Honestly, it's the freshest thing I've seen in the competitive FPS space since Team Fortress 2 - I checked out of these sorts of games years ago but The Finals really has me hooked. It's incredibly polished right out of the gate too.
