You've got the wrong end of the stick JGJones. Adaptive Vsync isn't Adaptive Sync.

Adaptive Sync's an optional standard in the VESA specifications.

Freesync is AMD's proprietary method of using adaptive sync.

Gsync is Nvidias complete proprietary method.

Nvidia could quite easily make their own proprietary method to support adaptive sync.
