What is the release date on these things? Thinking the unthinkable and giving ATI a go as that lightning card looks amazing.

Should be the end of this week or the start of next...either way, it's imminent.

I get the feeling that when the 28NM refreshes are launched at the end of the year,there will be much better value cards than ATM.

First benchies from the guy in the shop with one.

(For comparison I get 48 at these same settings, my 480 runs ~580 speed, his CPU is an I3 but even so I am underwhelmed)

Disappointed with AMD pricing of 7870 and 7950.

Yes, unfortunately....however it IS a real benchmark, the first we've seen.

We need somebody on here with a 7970 to run at the same settings making sure they are using version 3 as its supposed to give higher results over version 2.5 .

True, although I'm not a fan of synthetic benchmarks. Pity, it's something at least.

I completely agree, that'll at least give a comparison. Although who runs a 7970 with an i3 2100?

He posted a GPU-Z screenshot.

GPU-Z says the GPU has a 706MHZ clockspeed?? So are the review models overclocked cards as the shop owner has got a full retail card??

Something's not right ATM.

Also he says clock speed as reported in the Nvidia CP and GPUz both say 700mhz
