The Fury(X) Fiji Owners Thread

The main question is how many of them buying it at £650 will be using it. I suspect a to will be on eBay in a day or two for £750+!! It's the iPhone saga all over again!

it would have to sell for much more than £750 to make it worth while due to ebays charges + postage, i expect to see plenty of scammers offering them though :)
EDIT: ebay + paypal charges on £750 is £100.70*, and you still got to post it

*for private sellers

Some one told me last night that apparently AMD only had ten review samples for the EU. Now that *could* have something to do with why they told Kitguru to get bent. Not that I blame them of course, some of his accusations were pretty wild and far from the mark !

I'd bet that had Titan X and 980ti not come out AMD would have severely delayed this. It almost feels like they are buying time as it is.

Now add a cooling adapter and AIO. You're looking at another £80 easy. Then try fitting that lot into some ITX cases...

I think the price is more than fair, even at £650. If it even comes close to a Titan X at £300 less it'll be a winner.

The TX was selling here for around £839 and £799 on a discount. The GTX980Ti is the card to go against very very similar performance to a TX.

GTX980Ti with AIO is probably around the ~£650 mark (£649.99) from EVGA to be exact.

It should be stock vs stock for now, cause if/when Sapphire release a Fury X Toxic Edition and others like MSI release their OC versions, its gona be a whole different set of benchmarks.. again.

And why is this thread even god knows how many pages long without anybody even owning a Fury X yet? Should have kept all this chat in the other thread.

Just saying..

Do you see the irony :)

Well IIRC AMD did say stock for the first 6 months of the Fury X would be severely limited.

Limited stock for the first 6 months?! Assuming that is true then that is very grim news. All it will do is push people towards the (assumed) similar performing 980Ti and AMD will lose even more market share.

I really hope that isn't true and stock will be plentiful in weeks.

Are you saying it's just OCUK...?

I didn't say that. I said not all take the same approach. For obvious reasons I cannot say which ones do not. Regardless when you have limited stock of a newly released desirable item expect prices to be higher and for stock to sell fast. I think this will be equally if not more successful than the 970 launch.

People with disposable income will buy one or more come 1pm. Those who wish to wait for reviews or opinions of members can save £100 if they wait a couple of weeks or depending on how fast it takes to replenish stock but in this game the heart always rules over the head :p
