I must be missing something, it's slower than a 980ti, doesn't have hdmi 2.0 and isn't fully DX12 compatible...?

1. Its not
2. Fair enough, depends if you need it if using a pc monitor, you dont
3. Who says? From everything ive seen amd cards get a massive boost in dx12 unlike nvidia cards but not getting into the dx12 debate again.

so we have.

Pros

1. its cheaper
2. it matches or beats a 980ti
3. its cooler
4. its quieter
5. it may well overclock like a dream with more voltage
6. performance may increase more with later drivers.
7. It seems to do best in gamework games against the 980ti
8. Its a valid alternative to buying Nvidia at high end

Cons

1. It may not overclock as well as a 980ti
2. It doesnt have HDMI 2.0
3. Its not made by Nvidia

:D

The TX was selling here for around £839 and £799 on a discount. The GTX980Ti is the card to go against very very similar performance to a TX.

GTX980Ti with AIO is probably around the ~£650 mark (£649.99) from EVGA to be exact.

That's cheating. How much did you pay for your Titan X at launch dude?

£300 more. Quoting prices months after the launch is cheating....

As for the 980ti? he said G1. Which, according to the Nvidia lot is the fastest of the 980tis and I assume from all of the raving on about it it comes with custom power phases and fets?

Either way this card costs a whopping £300 less than Titan X did at launch. And, that's launch price. Give it time and it should settle in to the RRP of £549. And at that price, providing AMD turn over a new leaf when it comes to drivers I *may* get one and see how it goes. But I want Crossfire to work. In fact no, I need Crossfire to work.

And going on the way they've been lately it seems more "not" than "works".
