The Fury(X) Fiji Owners Thread

Ladrokes aren't taking chances lol, they've cut odds from 20/1 to 4/1 today that record temp of over 38 could be beaten...
Might have been handy having a water cooled fury x:)
Hope you get yours and its problem free..!

38 Pfft! That's just a normal day. Thankfully missed a tornado on the way home on Tuesday as well. Temp dropped from 95f to about 60 in around 20 minutes.

Will be interesting to see if you get charged a re-stocking fee.
It was at a competitor @ £509, I'd take a restocking fee & stick with my 970 & avoid AMD going forward (if they don't admit fault outright to the suppliers & end up costing me over £100).

I tried it on three positions, top - mid & bottom - all the same high pitches whine.

A problem this bad on a top line product on such a scale is very poor. My advice at the moment is to wait for a second revision of cards or go for the 980ti, this problem seems very widespread at the moment.

If they think a very high pitch sound isn't a reason for a return then I'll be kicking up a fuss either way, it's not ignorable at all for people with reasonable hearing, it's utterly unworkable.

They are both in my main PC and just need to switch off lanes when running either. It will be given some serious testing over the next few days and then I will give it a fair and unbiased review.

Nice one mate.

Look forward to your opinion on the card.

290s idling at 53 today :p

Lol, it's a hot today man. That's about my load temp. IDLE is 28C.

I don't know if this would help but i found this thread awhile back when i was looking into maybe going 4k
http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18670898
Although this specific problem was flickering on 4k @60hz maybe it could be a similar thing that you are suffering. The linked threads in that thread go into more detail but apparently DP sends power over pin 20 which i guess can cause problems for some users. The guy goes onto recommend this cable from the rainforest that is only 19 pin with pin 20 unconnected.

Wether it would help i can't say but thought i would post it up and let you make your own decisions to try that cable (or try to find another 19 pin cable)

Top man and ordered. I know my issue is purely down to the lead, so don't mind trying a tenner to get it sorted.

Finally got mine installed - had some issues with it not showing in device manager, put it into a different slot and it all seems ok now.

Its totally silent - need to make my H100i quieter now - its the noisiest thing in the case. It always was (except when the 290X warmed up) but since I've been listening for noise then I've noticed it more. There will be a completely new system built when Skylake comes out - the FuryX is just the first part of it so I'll worry about it then.

Ran some basic tests and all seems fine - not run any benchmarks as they wouldnt be anywhere others already reported.
