The Fury(X) Fiji Owners Thread

It really wasn't. This forum alone had many people buying stock and a week later, pretty much all of the cards had stock. The Fury X is a shockingly poor launch and hence why OcUK could charge an extra £150 per unit.

I'm just really worried as this is not a good sign, 40 or so units for the whole of the UK is really really bad.

I can see why people are saying AMD is starting to go under.

They have a great card that does really well. A nice cooler but it will put some people off, but the lack of stock is not good. having been lucky to get one though, I can say how pleased I am with it. I feel it really needs a higher res than 1080P to show its true colours and 4K looks the best way to go.

I have one issue that I can't replicate and happens randomly for no reason, every now and then the screen goes like the old Spectrum loading screen. Pulling the lead out and back in solves it but annoying none the less.

Anyone else seen this?

Anyone get any free games with their card? I got a copy of dirty rally, not sure whether to use the code or send it back with the card.

Take it as a thank you from AMD for doing their QA for them. Plus the UK parcel delivery industry also would like to pass on their gratitude.;)

I used to get that a lot on my 7970 xfire when i was running one monitor via dvi and the other extended via DP, i always thought it was drivers. It tended to happen if i opened something like youtube with a game running.

Strange and mine will do it with just a DP lead plugged in and sitting randomly on the desktop.

Have any of you seen the Crossfire/SLI showdowns between Fury X, Titan X and 980Ti ?

It's gonna make the Nvidia Fanboys pubic hair curl. :D

:D
Why?

Competition is good for all of us. I hope AMD squeeze Fiji for more performance through drivers like they've managed in the past with other cards.

I'm actually a little worried at this point to be honest, If they can only get 40 units to the whole of the UK at launch then there's something wrong.

Not really, Plenty of places had stock, Limited yes but not to this degree.

I think it is just a case of AMD not being ready to launch the FuryX on time rather a serious unsolvable problem. I'm sure there are issue related to HBM availability/manufacturing/assembly but I think in a month's time every will be fine stock wise. IF AMD aimed for an early august launch they probably would have avoided this situation but I guess they felt they couldn't wait any longer with the 980Ti out there

The TitanX launch was very different, not only were stock levels actually better but it was a specialized $1000 with intentionally limited stock, demand was higher than Nvidia expected even with their ripoff pricetag

I pointed out earlier in this thread that the FuryX does very well in xfire at 4K. to me that indicates there isn't an underlying driver issue like some people are hoping will be resolved. In SLI/Xfiire much of the driver work has to be double up with draw calls sent to each GPU.

FuryX2 for 4K could be the card to get.
