The Fury(X) Fiji Owners Thread

Normal fury. As quiet. Minimal performance difference. No pump whine.

Yep, I think I'm done with the Fury X and will go for a Sapphire Fury instead.

Have to say I'm really ****ed off at AMD, if I didn't have a nice Asus Freesync monitor I would have throw away everything and go for combo 980 Ti + Gsync monitor

Well two stock Fury X's match and beat my two 1290Mhz 980Ti's in parts of the Witcher 3 with hairworks maxed out at Ultra 1440p already.

Two 1200Mhz F X's would be great to see :D

Well you have to remember Nvidia GPU Boost 2.0 kicks in and auto clocks the card sometimes to 1200MHZ automatically so really that is stock :p

And from all the videos I've seen the Fury X loses out 99% of the time to the 980 Ti/TX :(

Anyone here with two Xfire Fury X's that can please tell me there Min and Avg FPS in Witcher 3 at 1440p FULL Ultra, with hairworks and HBAO+ enabled please?

Also have you experienced any game crash to desktops, or drivers stop responding issues in the game?

I would really appreciate some proper performance feedback.

I cannot help you with Witcher (anything Gameworks related is banned in my household), but I can talk about driver crashes in games and stuff:
The only game which crashed my drivers(and system with it) was Euro Truck Simulator 2 @1080p in xfire mode. Since the game's 4k scaling is broken, and xfire support is catastrophic at best, I had to check it out at 1080p. Have no clue why it crashed though. Any other games (GTA, pCars, Deus Ex, etc) at 4k runs fantastic and stable.
Though AMD reintroduced a little bug in their drivers again which crashes the system when I am folding on the GPUs and browsing internet or watching movies. It has something to do with power states of the gpu. The bug was present on 290x last year, but they fixed it with Omega drivers I think. But now Fury x with new drivers is afraid of webGL/flash content while folding.

Not with the latest witcher 3 patch. Killed performance on my 980Ti's. Dual Fury X's were beating me by 20fps in some areas. Had to roll back to the previous patch to get performance back.

Plus NV's latest drivers crash in the Witcher 3 so damn much. With game Patch 1.07 it was so much worse. Two BSOD's due to GPU drivers, and 12 game crashes. Once I rolled back to 1.06 BSODs are gone, and crashes are down to a minimum again. Still don't like them, and NV are still "investigating" the causes of it all. :/

I know this is off topic, but man, those witcher screens look terrible, I mean graphics :/ What happened to it? I do remember people going crazy about how this game looks and stuff, and now seeing the screens in this thread I wonder if the latest patch broke everything?

For some people the patch messed up so much. I had an issue where all shadows were also just pure black, so there was tar all over the map and screen.

There was also a downgrade before the game came out sadly. Darn consoles couldn't handle it, and still cant. Average fps on PS4 is like 20 in most areas :(

That is one thing most benchmarks miss out. The Nvidia cards are NEVER running at the advertised clocks. although it is not bad that they run higher. it is a little misleading if they say the cards running at default clocks in their write up. considering that no two nvidia cards auto boost to the same frequency.

We can't blame consoles, when you have another elephant in the room, called gameworks, which actually ruins the fps for most people. So imagine if they came out with full on graphics, 99% of the people whouldn't even be able to run it ;)
Besides, even with graphics downgrade I seen screenshots from friends and they looked great at 1080p. And no 1440p and it looks bad :/

As I do not follow the Unwinder drama's, so I might be off here a bit, but Matt, wouldn't you be able to make some calls, and arrange some fury xs to Unwinder? Or would it be completely out of your way?
Last time I checked you guys need every product of yours sold to make some money, and since everyone here and everywhere are overclocking (you know :D) your extra actions would do more god than bad ;)

Gameworks aka Hairworks in it is fine. Proof is in the pudding and Crossfire Fury X has same performance as SLI 980Ti maxed out. It's like saying TressFX ruins FPS, or AA ruins fps, or hell any advanced tech that's added. It uses more resources like they all do, if you can't run it, you turn it off, or lower other settings.

Would you have prefered if hairworks was completely disabled from running on AMD hardware instead, similar to how TressFX 2.0 was disabled on NVIDIA hardware in Lichdom?

I know I wouldn't, adjust the tessellation if you're on AMD and having issues, otherwise I think it ads a lot to the game. I think the game looks worse without it, especially on monsters and animals.

I also still think the game looks great, it could do with improved texture streaming, and draw distance to reduce popin and some greater LOD over distances but still looks and plays great.

I'm not talking about gameworks and amd. I am talking about gameworks altogether. It tanks fps to everyone, not just AMD. Yes we have 2 980tis or 2x fury x or 4 titan x and it is great, but what about the rest of the people with perfectly capable 780tis or 290xs?
It escapes me how people can blame consoles for witcher 3 graphics downgrade, when you people can barely run witcher with downgraded graphics as it is. And I do believe there is fps difference between gameworks on and off. Less of it on high end cards, much more on normal people cards ;)

P.S. completely different topic: guys DO not run GTA V at 4k with page file set to 2GB max :D Windows just threw a tantrum on me, saying I ran out of frikkin memory, crashed the game(that is forced to crash it), crashed the desktop (can't see any icons or wallpaper), and when I open task manager I see GTA V topping out at 2Gb of memory.
What really ****es me off, that I have 16Gb of DDR4 memory available, what frikkin business does game have with absolutely slow pagefile? :/
