The Fury(X) Fiji Owners Thread

I'm not talking about gameworks and amd. I am talking about gameworks altogether. It tanks fps to everyone, not just AMD. Yes we have 2 980tis or 2x fury x or 4 titan x and it is great, but what about the rest of the people with perfectly capable 780tis or 290xs?
It escapes me how people can blame consoles for witcher 3 graphics downgrade, when you people can barely run witcher with downgraded graphics as it is. And I do believe there is fps difference between gameworks on and off. Less of it on high end cards, much more on normal people cards

So using demanding tech drops FPS, who would have thought. Did you also say AA, SSAO, tessellation, Bloom, Dynamic lighting, tressfx and many other advanced features were bad when they came out?

It's hardly Only gameworks, and in the case of Witcher 3; that's only hairworks.
I also never once claimed there was noFPS difference with Hairworks on and off, and if in other game gameworks features on and off.

That's just like complaining there's an FPS difference with any of the above mentioned technology on. It was even more the case when each of those features were new. Just like they are now.

I really don't understand this issue. It's like complaining when Crysis came out, and people with capable 6800GT's or 1950XTs couldn't run it maxed out, and you needed Tri-SLI 8800 Ultras to try and manage.
The same for any new game that introduces new technology and great graphics.

Would rather these features weren't added at all ( although it seems if it's labeled Gameworks yes), or heck as a strawman why don't developers just have 100% parity with console graphics and not give us any advanced features. Then everyone can run it "maxed".

You tell me, briefly tried my 280X on my 4K tv but 25 FPS wasnt really much good. :p

My point is, GTA V at 4k is absolutely stunning especially with distance scaling enabled. I was sitting in shock how alive the city looked when seeing it from a distance. Witcher(release version) was rivaling GTA V at how stunning it looked from screens I've seen.
But seeing how bad the game looks from uksoldierboy screens, I can say that witcher looks much worse at the moment. Especially at the SQUARE.

Well by any estimations four is still a small number..... That being said I get you point. Thing is with AMD theybwont address these points as there are so few articles about the issue. Simple fact is shareholders don't look at people moaning on forums so why draw shareholder attention to an issue that isn't making headlines... Sucks for us as we don't know what is happening or why...but you can understand why a company with financial issues has to be very careful what they say officially.

And how much do AA(most of the games I play have this broken), SSAO, tessellation (if done non nVidia way), Bloom, Dynamic lighting, tressfx (runs better on nvidia, than on AMD :D) impact the fps? Not as much as Gameworks, and heck, if they impact it, they do it roughly the same on both, nvidia and AMD.
It seems with every Gameworks game we receive these days we have controversy, devs talking ********, performance issues, game breaking issues. And in all those cases everyone is blaming consoles exclusively, because hey that is very popular to do, you know pc master race, is it not, batman?
nVidia is ******** on gaming community left and right, yet we have so many people who blindly ignore their practices and just go on with the crowd and blame console.
And by the way, when you compare 1080p screens of many games between ps4 and PC there is minimal difference in detail. Most of the PC games I have have AA broken completely. So that '100% parity' is already here ;)
Only when you crank up the res on PC, you see huge difference.

I am quite surprised that Matt got 4 and he hasn't got any noise on any of them. Mine is silent as well.... Very strange indeed.

My 2 are silent as well :D

I think with supply being at 30 cards throughout the world, we managed to grab all the good ones and the rest of them are just circulating around to all the guys from this forum :D

how 4 is a small number? For one person, I am so sorry for him :(
I know for a fact I would have given up during second RMA. All that hassle to return cards wait, receive, return, wait receive...

Sounds more like you're projecting your issues here. Hairworks 1.0 knocks 10-15fps off in severe cases. That's nothing for a brand new tech, and was the case for each of the features I mentioned when they were first introduced and on their first version.

Also TressFX now runs better on NVIDIA hardware than AMD? Interesting that AMD had Xaviant disable it on NV hardware in Lichdom then, and that it wasn't the case when Tomb Raider originally launched with it.

I like how every Gameworks game is controversial, yet when there's a broken AMD game like Lichdom( where features are disabled on the competition), or the likes of BF4 it's all fine. A broken game mean bad development, not that a hardware company's fault.

It's obviously NVIDIA's fault for everything it seems. /s
You can believe that, but I shall continue to enjoy new games and new technology like I always have. It doesn't matter which GPU brand I end up with.

Also I'll happily blame console exclusivity as it does more harm to gamers by only allowing certain people with certain system to even get the game. And I'll happily blame bad developers such as Iron Galaxy and Ubisoft ( which I already stopped buying from some time ago ). Not the hardware companies for pushing technology forward with new features.

Caseking do have sapphire and powercolor in stock currently, but i'm not in the mood to play the waiting game for delivery only to have to activate hulk rage mode when i power it on.

What issues? The only game with Gameworks I have is pCars, which I bought by mistake not knowing it has been supported by nvidia. Other than this I haven't actually owned any other Gameworks title. So I don't have 'my' issues with Gameworks ;)
The only issue I have with it is that I laugh quite a bit about the issues other people have with Gameworks and all the stories which come with every Gameworks game. I know I should feel sorry for people who get caught with the issues, but I cannot help it ;)

Because each card is its own lottery. Having had three before that were bad his chances of having a fourth that was better was not really significantly better than when he was waiting for the third. That being said we can say it is very bad luck and perhaps evem indicative of a bigger problem....but 4 remains a small number of graphics cards.
Understand I had one that was noisy and was sent back and I fully note that this is a bigger issue than AMD let on....but it is still only the first batch with the vast majority of retailers expecting stock at the end of the month...I would hesitate to pick up any fury x in stock at the moment as it is very likely the first batch and this a risk....
