The Fury(X) Fiji Owners Thread

I think everyone whos got sick of waiting for em, has just gone Nvidia, as the Furys are still in stock, would have thought everyone would have just gone sod it, i'll get a non X instead, but been 10+ in stock of those since release day, and there can't be that many of them, as HBMs supposedly as rare as rocky horse ****, and theres only one brand of them as well because of that.

They must be selling quite poorly :(

When's the last time to saw a launch card always in stock!!! A loooong time :D

Isn't the rad supposed to go above the card (guessing for air buble reasons)?

Back around the release of the 290s that wasn't how it worked for me on my reference cards.
The core clock would drop off quite wuickly as the fan didn't spin up fast enough so I think my core would throttle down to the 700s and then the fan would start increasing. Then when it got cool enough the core was ramp up again. But once it got to 947mhz it would get hot again and the cycle would repeat.

Has this really been fixed since the 290 release?

Dont forget the hawaii reference cooler was ****, that most likely made the feature appear rubbish.

3 power color fury X showing as in stock, wonder when the other brands will show up. Not seen any HIS anywhere so far.

All sold out.

I would have ordered one of those too, so it's saved me lol.

Edit. As for the rad position? Over the years I have ran AIOs in every config you can imagine. It's never made any difference. I can't mount it anywhere else until I find or make a fan bracket for the mid fan. My idle is 27c right now, not looked at load temps.

Edit 2. Oh yeah, Matt, the overclock was successful mate. I'm breaking 14k in Firestrike now. Pretty lame but TBH? I think drivers could well sort that out. Every game I have played the card pees on my TB SLI.

Gaming is what matters right? Who plays Firestrike all day long apart from Mr 8Pack. :p

Running benchmarks won't reap much reward until we have voltage control to push things.

Btw Andy they still have stock, not trying to tempt you i swear. Refresh the page twice otherwise it shows no stock. Not sure what's up with the links.

Realistically do you think 850w is enough? like, does one Fury use less power than a Titan Black?

msi's back up at a competitor, 14th August dated now, wtf, this is just abysmal. :(

All I have seen you do is complain. Take it somewhere else, huh? many of us are perfectly happy.

Ugh, tough one. I think it'll be enough but it's probably borderline.

Try it and see? If you need a better PSU upgrade. I'd recommend a 1000W Superflower Platinum. More expense though i suppose. :)

And many of us aren't, many of us have got dodgy cards and had to return them and are rightly annoyed about the pathetic supply situation. These are facts, can't all be sunshine and rainbows.

Yeah thats a point, but the heat, can see the top card getting a tad warm, with all the heat from the bottom one going straight into it.

Yeah thats the main issue with a triple fan cooler. On average i think it increases top card temps by around 10c, might be worth looking at a few reviews of the sapphire fury and finding out what it loads at.

I'm looking at a 980ti currently, the zotac amp at 499 is a bargain.

What's stopping you, an AMD fetish....

You get MGS5 with it, even more of a bargain.

Seems to be around 76 or so, so top card would be around 86 then i guess, ive seen my 290X hitting 87 now im at a higher res.

Id be tempted to try it, its just what if the top card does get a bit too hot, be a **** on sending 1 back, and id rather 2 of them than 1.

Im not surprised, you've managed to get one.

Did you want one then?

Any way, aside from that I just benched GTAV. I made sure the weather was the most punishing, then ran a 90 second benchmark driving around the town. Pic (note Photobucket will destroy it)

And...

Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
4710, 90000, 45, 61, 52.333

As you can probably guess I am absolutely stoked. It ruins my Titan Blacks. They would go from anywhere between 37 and 52 FPS with a 42 average, now, even in the rain I'm getting 50s. Amazing card for 4k you really can't go wrong :)
