The Fury(X) Fiji Owners Thread

It provides finer details due to the smaller more numerous shapes and the performance is far less 'trashed' on cards that can cope with the higher levels, just because it's difficult to see a difference doesn't mean it doesn't do anything.

it does provide finer detail of the rock, or shall I say melting ice?
There is tesselation and there is nvidia OVERtesselation just for the **** of it.
crysis 2 was nvidia overtesselation, witcher hairwork is another example.

I'm interested in seeing if DX12 can surpass Nvidia's DX12 implementation as AMD has rumoured and has been touting their Async Shaders as the best thing since sliced bread :p

Well they shouldn't. I know they don't care either way, and nor will OCUK as a business because a sale is a sale, but they're really not helping by sitting back doing nothing.

I'm not being funny, but certain people are starting to look like crazed stalkers. Like they have lost touch with anything real and are just banging on and on and on like something possessed.

It's actually hard to watch. You know? how you walk down a high street and some one trips over their own toes and you cringe for them?

This made me giggle :D

I'm looking forward to whatever may transpire dude tbh. It's been ages since we had a new DX and last time it was quite a good success for all.

Windows 7 was amazing, DX 11 wasn't bad either :D Let's see if Windows 10 is fit enough to fill its boots :)

How you liking it in truth? Playing well at 4K?

Yeah totally :) I've finally started Metro 2033 : Redux. Only thing is I did Last Light first and it all feels the same, like I'm visiting the same places I went in Last Light :S

Wish I could have played it at launch but my paltry GTX 470 wasn't up to it and it ran like bum. I could have heavily reduced the settings but one of the main points of interest were the gorgeous graphics.

Batman? blimey, even Bob the Builder couldn't fix that one..... :D

I found Batman played really well at 1440P with everything on (as far as AMD are allowed to). GTA V was good as well at 1440P with settings turned down of course.

BS let me tell you.. Why because I have first hand experience with my 290 gaming edition stock hitting 85c vs water cooled hitting 50-60c and I noticed the difference right away..
From sitting where I am with case next to me it's much, much cooler. Another thing I noticed was just how much quieter and cooler my overall system is and funny enough I do seem to get better performance also.

So you can tell without looking what temp your card is running at?
Maybe there are quieter cards than your 290? (I seem to recall the MSI 290 Gaming editions weren't even close to being the best or coolest 3rd party 290 were they?)
Noise will vary between cards, so ignoring the coler noise you're telling me you can tell the temperature your card is running at?

Hang on a minute, Andybird, are you comparing an out of the box AIB clocked 980ti against a Reference model FuryX (which apparently currently cannot be reasonably overclocked) and then calling the FuryX gimp? Riiiiiight....

lol people like you make me laugh, of course a card that is clocked 20-30% higher than a reference card is going to smash the FuryX that has clocks to compare with the reference card its competing against.

Now if there was AIB clocked FuryX cards it was smashing by 30% then yes you would have a valid point, as there is none, im afraid you are grasping at straws and pulling nonsense out of your rear end and looking pretty dumb doing it

Wow that's odd. GTAV really is the star of the show at 4k for the Fury X. Amazing how it tanks like that.

I'll possibly try Batman again at some point but it hasn't really grabbed me. It's just more of the same with a floating car tbh. Feels very odd to drive..

Yes I can just be sitting close to the PC.. before my exhaust fan used to push crazy amount hot air now its just warm air. I can also feel the difference around me! It was one reason when I replaced this cooler I was super happy! Its also made me want to have water cooling GPUs from now on bought like this or do it myself.
It is the same GPU only cooler taken off and replaced with Corsair G10.
