The Fury(X) Fiji Owners Thread

I hope you are right about the VRMs being responsible for this 30% power increase for 3% performance

I would have thought that the performance could not drop from excess heat without the clock speed dropping,
can you have a high measured clock speed but get poor performance somehow and without crashing ?

said it many times the mods here dont know how to do their jobs.
they cant ban as they dont understand the topic is constantly derailed.
the insults and personal, attacks constantly dont get a ban.
they simply ar so bad at their jobs here so go hire guys or ladies who knows their stuff.

I find mostly kids here and the bad attitude is by far the worst second only to Hardocp out there. thats saying something.

gonna go and drink some coffee now enjoying my amd hardware which btw is the best out there.

People should be grateful I am not a Mod, I don't see the point of separate AMD and NVidia forums but I do like very long suspensions.

But you happily buy AMD who lie to their investors, lie to their customers about pump whine not affecting retail cards, purposely withhold driver updates to 290X cards so the 390X look better on review day, lie about stock issues due to demand, lie about Nvidia sabotaging AMD performance in certain games, contradict themselves about VRAM importance in the name of marketing etc.

Both companies are the same. They try to maximize profit and say whatever they can to meet those objectives.

AMD like to play the victim and it seems some people just lap up that marketing material and go on a Nvidia hate crusade.

If someone doesn't buy Nvidia because of ethical issues that is fine, but they also shouldn't buy AMD cards, Intel CPUs, use MS windows, eat nestle products, nike shoes, apple or Samsung phones, Volks Wagon or Ford cars, or pretty much anything really.

My wife is a prof of business Ethics, I know a pretty comprehensive list of ethically dubious companies. nvidia is a complete angel sent down form heaven compared to many major companies you are used to.

Does you ethical choices only surrounding ignoring Nvidia, or do you take a more holistic approach? Ever drank at Star Bucks, ate a Big mac, use a bank account, flown with Ryan air, etc, etc.

You know what? I almost bit, got all the way to the end of the second paragraph, in the 3rd I was going to explain how ethics work. But why bother, this ain't the place for it.

I'm in this thread because I love technology but it seems to me that there are far to many in here for the drama. It's like discussing gender politics with a teenage feminist it's that bad.

I think that maybe the forum should be split into two or 3 sub forums, AMD Nvidia and general and the fanboys who don't play well with others banned from the relative sections. I think that was a great idea, I feel sorry for the mods that have to come along and delete all this crap but I hope they do, this message included because parts of this thread are just vast wastelands.

Waste of time, people will still find things to argue about.

The best way to deal with any problem posters is to suspend or ban them for a very long time, a minimum of 12 months should do the trick.

Cant really see any problem posters. Seems that people are just not allowed to discuss anything negative.

ok, tell me please what does post with 980ti is better and cooler have to do with Fury X owner, who already bought the card? What does any of yous opinion(subjective) about techpowerup voltage article has to do with fury x owners who already bought the card? What does discussion about amateur review site conclusions have to do with fury x OWNERS who already bought the cards?
I can understand single post about how one is frustrated that one bought whining card and returned it. Single post. Yes, but multiple post going on and on on how AMD failed this launch - NO. It is easy to express yourself about your experience in a single post. It is easy to express critics to AMD in a single post. But when people come over here day in day out with same old story, like yes AMD screwed this launch. It gets boring and irrelevant, since it comes from same group of people. I understand their anger, since I am in their shoes when it comes to buying from nVidia, but people need to understand that repeated whining about how AMD failed the release is not contributing to this thread at all.

I notice that a lot of you guys fail miserably to understand what situation AMD is in right now. They are bleeding cash, been doing it since I remember. Yet technologically they still have balls and engineers to innovate (mantle, dx12, vulkan, HBM, GDDR5, CMT concept(failed but hey, even Intel engineers were interested in the idea, and were afraid to try it out), APU, opencl, HSA).
So everyone needs to step back and frikkin think for a minute, and give credit where it is due. There is no place for sarcastic remarks about how AMD is failing in this thread. period

You don't need to explain how ethics work, as I said my wife is an expert on the subject. What you have is selective ethics to support your brand of choice. that is fine, I really don't care if you prefer 1 company or the other, i just find such arguments extremely ironic.

I'm also in this thread because I love technology and discussing the hardware. I'm not someone who is biasing their purchasing decision due to arbitrary factors surrounding the company. I'll buy the best card for the job at hand, I have absolutely zero bias, which is why I am writing this from an AMD 6970 powered system and would happily buy an AMD card without a seconds thought if it met my needs again.

This thread has developed into a general Fury discussion. I understand that is not desirable for some people and I apologize for being part of the discussion surrounding the technology.
However, pretty much everyone is making off-topic posts., yourp ost is one of them If this was only about owners then the thread would be very thin on the ground and pretty boring, what is there to really discuss?

Again, I apologize for another off-topic post but felt like this warranted a reply.
