The Fury(X) Fiji Owners Thread

ok, tell me please what does post with 980ti is better and cooler have to do with Fury X owner, who already bought the card? What does any of yous opinion(subjective) about techpowerup voltage article has to do with fury x owners who already bought the card? What does discussion about amateur review site conclusions have to do with fury x OWNERS who already bought the cards?
I can understand single post about how one is frustrated that one bought whining card and returned it. Single post. Yes, but multiple post going on and on on how AMD failed this launch - NO. It is easy to express yourself about your experience in a single post. It is easy to express critics to AMD in a single post. But when people come over here day in day out with same old story, like yes AMD screwed this launch. It gets boring and irrelevant, since it comes from same group of people. I understand their anger, since I am in their shoes when it comes to buying from nVidia, but people need to understand that repeated whining about how AMD failed the release is not contributing to this thread at all.

I notice that a lot of you guys fail miserably to understand what situation AMD is in right now. They are bleeding cash, been doing it since I remember. Yet technologically they still have balls and engineers to innovate (mantle, dx12, vulkan, HBM, GDDR5, CMT concept(failed but hey, even Intel engineers were interested in the idea, and were afraid to try it out), APU, opencl, HSA).
So everyone needs to step back and frikkin think for a minute, and give credit where it is due. There is no place for sarcastic remarks about how AMD is failing in this thread. period

Still fail to see why you cant discuss these things without raging?

We all wanted a great AMD card, it didnt happen, we are allowed to talk about things.

Granted, there are people trolling but its pretty much like that on every forum in existence.

Waste of time, people will still find things to argue about.

The best way to deal with any problem posters is to suspend or ban them for a very long time, a minimum of 12 months should do the trick.

I don't think there is anything more toxic than the diehard fanboy types. Never liked bannings personally save for extreme circumstances. I'm just really to old for this, it sucks the life out of me. Must be worse for you given the effort you put into these threads, much appreciated btw ;)

I'm just hoping we get some movement in voltage control because I'd really like to see what these cards can do when they are opened up. Really very keen on the DX12 side of things too and that's just a few days away!

I think Windows 10 and DX12 are my last hope for these cards. That or a hefty price drop.

They do need a price drop but I think a lot of the price problems are down to supply or the lack of. I'm not going to trash AMD on this because of the radical new technology being utilised, it's an understandable consequence. Not really affecting me as I won't be upgrading gfx until after the process shrink and getting me some eyefinity goodness :D

I think the AIO is a consideration in the cost also, just a shame about the messed up pumps, beyond that though I think they should offer AIO and even discounted bare card options for custom loops on all of the high end cards from now on really.

So these adapters, a company making the chips says they started "production shipments" middle of last month, I take it to mean final silicon winging their way to BizLink et al?

How much longer?

Thanks, im praying its not a whiner, i noticed theres a couple of XFX owners, and theres are also fine by all accounts. :D

It seems its just pot luck TBH bud. Ive bought maybe 4 or 5 AIO coolers for CPU's over the years which have all been fine but the EVGA AIO I strapped on my TX has a definite buzz to it. Its a different type of sound to the whine of the Fury x, however, I would still rather it wasnt there!

Just another example of how both sides have their problems and we should all get along :)

I was meaning in that it can be very varied (pot luck) - I used to have a swiftech kit that was utterly silent and before that another AIO that was fairly quiet, put a few H100s in builds for people and its been mixed, was going to get one but went with the 1250 on a whim and its up there with the worst I've experienced so far.
