The Fury(X) Fiji Owners Thread

I wonder if it is down to the memory management - there are rumours it aggressively manages memory even when it doesn't need to but no idea if there is anything to that. GTA though is always a bit hit and miss if it runs smoothly.

Don't have a clue, im baffled as to why it says im using about 3.5Gb, out of 8384410Mb as well, yet when i swap my 290 back in, goes back to saying 3.5GB out of 4096Mb.

just try it. you won't mess up any social accounts :D you are just reinstalling the game, not the social club.
on the other note, don't be lazy, ffs

Can leave the social club on, no reinstalling it ?, gah, can't be bothered with it all now, had a mare with all this, no luck at all.:(

yeah thats interesting because the other guy said that the performance doesnt scale properly with extra voltage and it increases power draw by 10% per 1% fps gain or something. wonder why he used a strix card and not a reference fury x

Decided to put the stock fan back on, Couldn't actually control the Corsair SP120 White LED fan I put on there properly plus load temps creeped up higher than they were with the stock fan even when the Corsair fan was at full speed..

The fan AMD opted to put on the Fury X really is awesome :)

I find coil whine just as annoying as pump whine, neither of my 980ti's have coil whine no matter what the fps are ;)

Pretty sure my Fury X's did not have coil whine either, maybe a PSU issue?

what PSU? Seasonic? yeah, right. Coil whine above 1800fps is annoying for people who are annoyed at life. Normal person would just ignore it and enjoy his card. When coil whine comes up during normal use, then fair enough.

I think he was provided with the card. Though I might be mixing something.
that other guy had no clue what he was doing with the fans it seems ;)

Just ran GPUPI 1.4 and expected the Fury X to be much faster than a 290X but it was slower (290X = 22.3s vs FX=27.01s)? Think the 290X has 44CU's and the Fury X has 64CU's

Chill out LOL

I was saying the cause of some cards coil whine is an inferior PSU, you have a decent PSU.

I was not making any reference to your cards with their coil whine, your's are just faulty, if it winds you up this much exchange them ;)

that program is done by some hobbyist. don't expect any optimisations for new hardware. It is useless PI either way.

Try Batch size 100M
Reduction size 256 ;) will see some difference.

I am chill, just everywhere I see threads about coil whine, everytime PSU is brought into conversation :D

Well seems like my FX will be going back soon, the constant EEEEEEEEEEE is driving me nuts. Kinda in 2 minds on what to do next, get another one and cross my fingers its a good un or hold out another week for the nano and see what its like. If it can be unlocked to FX speeds with better cooling then maybe that's the way to go.

Just worked out ive spent over 2k on the things, and just can't catch a break :(

Are you serious here? You manage to go through several cards to get decent one, and you give up on not reinstalling GTA5? Your frikkin social club stuff is on cloud for gods sake :D what can you mess up over there?
obviously being in UK at this time of day redownloading GTA V would be task and a half with stone age internet providers :D
in your case there is obviously something odd with configuration that's all. did you try checking integrity of local files of the game?
