The Fury(X) Fiji Owners Thread

If I turn up my D5 to high or highest it makes a very noticable penetrating noise even though I've got it isolated from the case by foam, its noticable even if you are wearing in ear monitors, so I know what you mean about annoying noises that are not that loud but they get to you after a while, I have to make sure that I turn it down to 2 after I have filled the system and got rid of the air bubbles.

Saw someone had 2x right against each other, said his temps were only around 65, i'll have a bit of space between mine though, as would be using slots 1 and 3. :)

My case is only a midi tower and it gets warm in the flat so that would make sense for 1 card. Very good indeed for crossfire.
My fan is set to auto for that but you can't actually here it until its up to about 60 or 70% so I could try again at that.

Crossfire performance looks sick. Inline with 980ti sli and often above :).

Yeah they look great in Xfire :)

Actually been looking at reviews of the singles, and tbh, they aren't much slower than the Xs at 1440p, i saw mostly about only 3/5 frames slower, odd game was about 9, but no more than that.

Looks like your nearly set on it lol. Tbh if your planning on getting 2 nobody can really argue that your better off with a 980ti unless your worried about the whole memory thing. You can always try a bios flash but personally I'm not too bothered about the extra 3/5fps since what im playing is running smoothly anyway.

I have this feeling its going to be based on the non x fury with a giant air cooler.

Its been mentioned it will likely be running at slightly lower clock speeds, whether its a fury x core or the cut down fury core is anyones guess.

After the amount of issues with the fury x its possible they might go to asetek for a cooling solution or possibly go back to air.

Should just ship the bare boards and get the AIBs to put (their own) AIOs on them :D atleast some of them won't cheap out and put out decent cards.

Ok, here is the weird thing. Since Euro Truck Simulator 2 is badly coded and does not support xfire, I have to play on single fiji, and performance is just a tad better than on 290x. Like on 290x fiji has some stuttering, but that is present with nvidia gpus as well. In the past I used to switch off folding on all GPUs, and cpu as well. But lately as I just switch off folding on main GPU since it will be used for gaming. And while folding is running on 10 threads of CPU and on secondary fiji, ETS2 runs quite smooth :D have no clue why, but love it. :D

Well I had enough and sent mine back. It is an amazing card with cracking cooling but it is just to noisey. Would trade silence at idle for noise at load when I am surfing the internet with the headphones off the constant droning is silly. Never had any aio that was so noisey. (Should note I am making a mountain out of a mole hill and I am not saying that the fury x is really all that loud...just in a system that is otherwise silent it sticks out like a sore thumb!)

As was said above (to me), when you're just surfing, and in your case, not wearing your headphones while doing it, thats not AMDs fault :D

:p
