The Fury(X) Fiji Owners Thread

Not my fault if you don't seem to want to recognise the difference between Reference and Aftermarket both being real products you can buy and run out of the box at default clocks, vs. manually overclocking

manually overclocked both cards will do more than what was shown in that review, where to exactly depends on exactly which aftermarket 980ti you are looking at, and with FuryX in stock prices still all over the show it isn't as clear cut as saying "for around the same price" as even the aftermarket 980ti's currently ARE around the same price

You've tried to be careful with you're words but you've validated my point with "vs manually overclocking". So you do indeed realise all an aftermarket card is, is a card with some bells and whistles, a fancy cooler and/overclocked by default. But overclocked nonetheless.

I don't think the adapter is a "fix" so much as catering to people who use TVs instead of monitors for their PC. I had to buy a DP to DVI adapter to connect my 2nd monitor - is that AMD's fault too?

What adaptor did you use? The startech one I used didnt work with my dvi only hazro monitor.

If I had to guess, I would say that AMD want people to stop using HDMI so they can stop paying the HDMI tax. It's certainly something I would like to see happen.

Might of made sense in a couple of years when 4K TV's with DP's are standard but to not include it on a card released today that is aimed at 4K gaming is a stupid decision and I think AMD know this.

Where can I buy a FuryX that runs at 1207 out of the box?

We all know about the HDMI issue and we all knew that an adopter was coming out, get over it, its old news which its seems some like going over again and again because they have not got anything better to do because if they had they would be, its getting old as hell.

I did not bring it up, I was replying to a post regarding the lack of HDMI 2 support.

I forget how touchy you all get when reminded of the card shortcomings ;)

Would this be the same adapter that was coming out when they cocked up the first time with no HDMI 2 support on the R295X2? I was told back then an adapter was due, still waiting, I will believe it when I see it. :p

I actually have a FuryX on order... That doesnt mean when someone keeps saying something thats objectively untrue I will completely ignore it.

No one has said anything untrue for you to ignore. We've only stated that stock Ti vs stock Fury X is a fairer comparison than heavily OC Ti vs stock Fury X. When OC Fury X are available, a comparison to OC Ti's will be fairer. Comparing stock to OC is still useful - but it's not apples to apples and you seem to be point blank refusing to acknowledge it because you presumably don't like the outcome.

I think Nvidia cards hide shortcomings as history proves.
It was far better for AMD to give people a choice of HDMI 2.0 60fps while still offering 30fps for all rather than place a gimped version of it in the GPU.

It started because Lokken said that a FuryX was faster than a 980ti at 4K and that they scaled better meaning that FuryX Xfire was consistently faster than 980ti SLI... he didn't say "only using reference cards", or "only using cherry picked AMD supporting games".

OC FuryX are not going to be available, so comparing a non-existent product to ones that actually exist is going to be difficult. That review was "apples for apples" because it compared two real products that you can buy. The 980ti's in that review were not manually overclocked, so saying "its not fair because you can overclock the FuryX" is disingenuous, because you can also overclock the 980ti's that were used.

Yes, I would love to find out how far the FuryX will overclock with voltage, hence why I've ordered one, I would also love to know how a 1535 980ti will compare to whatever the FuryX will manually overclock to. However possible future outcomes aren't directly relevant to an absolute statement like "FuryX is faster than 980ti at 4K", or "980ti SLI cannot beat FuryX crossfire", both of which are objectively not true in absolute terms.

Still waiting for your answer as to why HDMI 2 is gimped on my 980ti ;)

And yes a bold and cunning decision to make the Fury range HDMI 1.4 supporting 30hz at 4K, total genius!!! how Nvidia must envy such marketing strategies by AMD :D

I did not bring it up,

I dont care who brought it up, but the constant moaning about the same things over and over and over is boring as ****, its not bringing anything new or worthwhile to anyone, moaning over and over again about things that we already knew about weeks and months ago and im not talking about someone who has just gotten a card and is informing us that's its a screamer, then too many see that as a queue to jump in and go through there moaning routine which i have read too often as if we are a bunch of school children who needs to be told the same **** over and over gain.

I said my part about the HDMI and the Pump issue when the card first came out, the is no reason for me to moan about them again, unless im someone who likes to moan about things just because they can at every opportunity because that is the highlight of there interests in computing .

Don't quote me then, quote the person that asked originally :p

I don't care for folk that complain and whineee everytime somone dares to say anything negative about their toy, just because you might already know about it does not mean everyone does, I was just answering a question. :)

FireFox you crack me up. Forum member for 13 years, 719 post and 10% of those are in this thread alone

I wonder how many posts relate to HDMi 2.0?

Just get over it dude, more to life than HDMi. :D:D:D

Andy I didn't say anything like furyx cf is always faster or whatever. Honestly I don't even care. I just posted a review that showed them in better light than your review, which is fair game, so what's your problem?
