The Fury(X) Fiji Owners Thread

Got my Fury X :-) lovely card, no pump whine (for info it was shipped from sapphire on the 24th of july). But the fan "grind" when it goes over 560rpm... not really bothering while gaming. Anyways here's my photo !

To get on the Roll of Honour all you have to do is post a pic with your user name on it of your Fury X.

Its funny how hard it seems to be for cameras to capture the radeon logo in its red colour, looks orange in the above pic. :p

Yes lol, but the load indicator leds come out red, it's funny, and I would have prefered it to an orange/yellow aswell it would have fit better with my build...

I have a question (maybe it's already been asked) on the sapphire fury xs they put shiny stickers that cover the nice plates (god knows why they did that, it looks horrible and cheap, reminds me of those crappy stickers that are always on gskill ram, not as bling bling though) do you think if I take the stickers off it will void the guarantee ? The sticker also conveniently covers up the screws of the plate that hide the pump...

I think if you remove the stickers you will void the warranty. I'm not at home at the moment but I am sure one of those stickers is for warranty warning as well ;)

I don't think the bottom sticker (the one covering the dimpled cover) has any warranty info on, It's just a plain sticker covering the cover for some reason.

I thought it was a bit pointless (and tacky) too but left it on as i can't see it anyway.

Seen as though AMD encouraged customising the cover I can't see the warranty being voided for removing it so removing the sticker would be fine to take off in my book, not sure about the top one though.

Yep I was thinking the same thing, that AMD is encouraging custom covers. Also they did make the stickers so it does not remove the barcodes and stuff ... I'll write to sapphire. It would be a shame if that voided the warranty coz the dimpled cover look nice.

Custom covers is for the bottom of the card when it is installed in PC. The top visible cover has stickers and it is not changeable. Or at least AMD does not offer custom cover for that side.

I've given the Witcher 3 a good hammering and it's sitting around 60 fps most of the time with pretty much everything max except for hair works which I switch off.

Dropping shadows and foliage a touch and it jumps into the 70's. All really smooth too.

I'm quite suprised considering how demanding it's supposed to be.

Hynix have just spent a crap ton of money on their chip production manufacturing especially ready for HBM2
HBM (High Bandwidth Memory)

(happy Jedi??) so hopefully we shouldn't see as much shortage when this hits! Let me just dig up the article i read!

http://hexus.net/business/news/comp...-spend-38-billion-chip-factories-south-korea/

it's for SSD and such but looks like it's just to help Hynix expand really so hopefully HBM2 should not suffer same fate as HBM1

I honestly didn't think it was a typo so don't get your knickers in a twist. I was only pointing it out in case it was a genuine mistake/misrepresentation on your part.

If we're not corrected, how are we supposed to learn?? (I've been corrected LOTS of times!!!!)

Well seen as if you read my post i used the HBM acronym twice after the one before where i simply got the B and M wrong way round which can quite very easily be done and overlooked. One can easily assume and come to the conclusion it was a simple typo. If you honestly thought it wasn't then your not very smart are ya? Just be honest it was just a troll comment seen as out of all my post u dont reply with anything relevant and just pick on the typo. I now understand why i don't seem to like you that much, i forgot why but know i remember. Thanks!

I think the memory market is corrupt as ****, Samsung + Hynix together plowing $50B into extra capacity and "prices are not expected to change", LOL.
