The Fury(X) Fiji Owners Thread

Shame, If they got permission to make and call it a custom model lets hope they ensured it at least has the Mark 2 pump.

I regret not getting the full Fury but after the wait for new stock and those being a mix of good and bad I gave up and went with the ultra silent Tri-X. I get coil whine in menus at over a couple of thousand fps but it's hard to hear so although I never got the full chip I got a great alternative. I wouldn't mind a full Fury x to crossfire with it (I haven't got enough room for a second Tri-x as the psu would be in the way as it is a 2 and a half slot card but an AIO would fit perfectly). Very tempting.

The fury x with the supply issues i just wonder if amd is letting it die off and focusing more on the pro and nano. They're paying the price for trying to put out a premium quality card then cheaping out on the pump unit, 295x2 had none of these issues so no clue why they didn't stick with asetek, they would have had to design a new contact plate to accommodate the core and HBM as asetek designs are traditionally just circular but it would have avoided this farce.

This whole launch just reeks of people at amd running about like headless chickens, zero quality control on the flagship card but then again zero stock so not much of an issue in amd's mind. Nano with mad coil whine and for certain tv owners another pain with the hdmi 2.0 missing, though not an issue for everyone. Fury pro seems to be the only version of fiji with no issues, actually more of a bonus if you can get one that can be unlocked.

I wish people would stop bashing AMD or NVidia setups as they both get the job done.

I use whatever setup is available at the time and they both function well.

Everybody is on the same team regardless of whether they use AMD or NVidia.:)

Sadly not everyone can have this neutral standpoint, Thing is people NEED to pick sides, It's pathetic I know but people generally are pathetic.

I was only talking overclock, but I guess it's an old joke now. I'd be surprised if voltage control was ever released for the Fury line now tbh, it's been too long

What do you care, your remaining card will be dead looooooong before then ;) :p

I will never turn to the dark side! I WON'T JOIN YOU!:D

Doesn't really need voltage control its fast enough as it is, needs more supply, fixing the whine issues and a price drop.

I can see your point, but i'd disagree, it does need voltage control, yes it's quick, but it could always be quicker.

My view is that of a Gamer and heavy overclocker, i love getting more performance from hardware and voltage control is critical to that.

Try the FPS-limiter, you can find it in the catalyst. It saves you energy and no more coilwhine. I set ist to 61 FPS for my 60Hz Monitor and it works fine. The Card stays cooler and the games run rockstable too

@Kapstaad: Thx :-D

Unwinder posted this on the 11th (over on Guru) about getting sent a Nano to be able to sort the VC.

MSI just sent it to me today, I've not received anything yet so it will take at least a week while it travel from MSI TW to Moscow MSI office then to my city.

Let him talk his own tune ;) You know spinners need to spin :D After all Fiji not having voltage control has major influence on his personal life, so he has to joke and post his opinion right here :D

I wonder how many AMD owners are posting on nvidia owners threads or driver threads?

I've been using it but it only works for dx10 and above and it's DX9 games where the coil whine starts, It doesn't start unless the menu get's close to 2000 fps and it's only in one game that I've used so far so it's no biggie and like I said it's not loud either.
