The Fury(X) Fiji Owners Thread

No probs and amazing that ShadowPlay is far more versatile than even the expensive capture cards out there. I didn't see any of them offer 1440P 60 fps, let alone 4K 60 fps :D

Not sure on the encoding side, but the decoders have HEVC and VP9 support on GM200 so maybe the encoders were given some 4k love?

I think the VCE in Fiji did.

Might need to try something other than shadowplay to test, OBS should work.

Oh you bought one? cool man.

I've very loosely started saving for two now. Thing is even if I had the cash to jump right now it would be daft, because price will drop soon enough.

I dipped into my savings to get mine, as I wanted to wait for some OT to pay for it but so little about at work, I went with the YOLO attitude :D

I did give OBS a quick try yesterday to try and save me some money and it stuttered and was a big hit on performance (81 fps without and 62 with), so not that great for me.

Amdmatt any news in regards to the AOC monitor problem I'm having please bud? Contacted Ocuk for a DSR/RMA ( unsure if it's a monitor issue or AMD drivers) but was told I could face a reduction of up to 25% off my refund price due to it being used or some crap.

Had I known about it I'd have not ordered and got the free sync monitor instead.

For the Fiji you need to look for the VCE branch of obs to use the hardware encoder.
I think HVenc can be selected on the VCE version as well for the titan.

In regards to the AOC monitor having issues with AMD cards, it and the Samsung listed above me had known issues on the AMD FirePro D700 graphics cards. Both had screen flickering and artifacts/image corruption. As far as I know there was never a solution found as it was due to the monitors themselves.

If The Fury X has the same issues, I doubt anything could resolve it bar a new monitor :/

Ahhh cool. It is no bother though and as I do a lot of recording, I felt a dedicated capture card was the way forward. I might even end up building another PC but no funds for that at present :(

Changed my order for the XFX (uggggg) but hopefully nothing goes wrong and I need to call on their warranty.

Yeah, dedicated card will be best in end, just need a fast drive to record with.

Greg, when you do your testing then please test GTA5 and Mordor for any 'hitching' at max details. I've seen a vid where this happens but hopefully you'll get a new driver to play with by then

edit - This was at 4k though

I will be doing 1440P only (and possibly some 1080P if people really want it) and can't really afford to splash out on a 4K monitor at the mo. The Mrs would literally kill me :D

Nice one Greg, looking forward to seeing your results :)

Hopefully it will be here tomorrow. Proper excited.

Nice, should be spot on with a none-minimal performance penalty.

Any luck with the 15.200.1040 drivers? They gave me a 34% boost in Draw calls over the 14.15 omega drivers. From 430k to 590k draws/s.

Games are far smoother on my 8350 + 7870.

Still not seen anyone bench a Fiji with them yet. People seem more interesting in trying to overclock its ram...

They used the correct 15.15 drivers. But most of the disparity from what I could see is due to game settings. Some benching with MSAA and 16xAF while others did not. MSAA putting the Fiji on par and ahead in most tests when used.

But the best overall drivers have to be the leaked ones I mentioned. you can find them on guru3d forum.

But it has to be CPU limited from the look of the less than 4k results.

But that's my opinion. Lol.

Is why I mention the leaked drivers since they have a nice reduction in cpu overhead.
