Will anyone else join me in a rant?

So yea, I picked up F.E.A.R. Files thinking I would actually finally play it, I sadly assumed the game was there with the addons, sadly it's only the addons.

I've only played extraction point so far, but wow! There's no story whatsoever, the game is basically run and shoot, i barely used slow motion and most of the weapons are quite dull. Your health readout is numbers rather than a bar, so it's not always easy to tell you're actually geting hurt.

I died a few times for stupid reasons, like why are there explosive panels all over the place? Oh and did I mention the auto weapon-switch which picks the next weapon rather than an appropriate one, i.e. not the ROCKET LAUNCHER!

To top that off the 360 port is DIABOLICAL, even though the graphics aren't much cop the framerate is generally bad and in a lot of places horrible. Probably the worst part is the fact that the auto-aim is actually some kind of satanic auto unaim, it for some reason drags the cursor in random directions. Oh and the rumble support is terrible, the only feedback you get is on firing weapons, grenades and being shot you feel nothing.

And I swear the graphics were better than that when I played the demo... hmph

Sorry had to vent somewhere :)

Halo 3, overhyped, not as good as the predecessor.
Gears of War 2, overhyped, MP is a mess.
Little Big Planet, got bored after a day, nowhere near as good as I expected.
Metal Gear Solid 4, felt the game didn't have as much emphasis on stealth as it used to, which ruined it. Didn't like the more outdoor focused areas.

LBP is the biggest 'poor' game for me recently. Just full of too many little niggles which ruin it.

Fallout 3

Very good game, I'd just like there to have been more to do. I'm at 30 hours gametime and I just don't feel there's anything left for me to do. Of course, it's slightly unfair to criticise a game for only getting 30 hours out of it, but to use Oblivion as an example, I stopped playing at 70 hours and still left the game with plenty I could have gone back to do.

Gonna go for Fallout 3, not because it was a bad game as such, just because it didn't feel like fallout at all. While i can understand its merits they weren't for me, the dark humour was all but gone, there were no longer a huge number of deep side quests, the main storyline itself was far too short, the combat system just annoyed me and several other things that just ruined that fallout feel.

How could I forget about GTA IV, the shooting feels slow, the guns sound crap and the game suffers from more framerate problems than a Voodoo2 would with Crysis.

I could name more bad things about it but I'll leave it at that. :)

Yeah I keep wanting to go back to LBP but it just doesnt deliver on its potential and there are some little issues with it that can make you tear your hair out.

perfect dark zero. only got around to playing it a few weeks ago. shocking and terrible mess of a game. ridiclously large levels leave you wandering aimlessly wondering where you are supposed to go and what your objectives are. really really frustrating when you dont know where to go and the arrows dont come on.

perfect dark on teh n64 was as good as it gets for fps but i guess to many of the guys that made that and goldeneye had left rare by the time this shambles was created

Of the little that I have played of LBP I have really enjoyed it, puts a huge smile on my face because the game is very fun, a definite change from my usual games that I play (FPS etc etc.) If Killzone 2 and SF4 weren't around I would be putting a lot more time in to LBP. Got it for £20 as well so that wasn't too bad.

I was very disappointed with Killzone 2 single player. Just another shooter that brought nothing new to the table for me. Maybe I bought in to the hype too much.

Multi-player is great though. :D

Them all. I havent picked up a single player game that Ive wanted to play since COD4. Ive been bored with everything in about 15 minutes...and back to online BF2, 2142 & COD4.
