The game disappointment thread

Everyone i personally know loves it to bits. All my friends have it and their gf's have now taken over the ps3 to play it. Every time ive taken it somewhere to play some co-op its been played by 4 into the early hours lol. There are a lot of user created levels always poping up so it keeps changing :p

What ever floats your boat i suppose.

I've found the same, I never really play it.

But if you have a bunch of people around, four player co-op is brilliant fun.

Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts
Yes it's a shame that Rare have gone from being one of the best developers out there to just another face in the crowd, since they moved over the microsoft the only good thing to come out of them was Kameo, I don't think there has been anything else noteworthy, unless viva pinata is worth playing!?!

motogp 06... my first 360 game, bought when I got the console, and it sucked. Very buggy with poor controls. motogp07 was a big improvement.

I just know RE5 will be my let down this year :/

True, it looks like it may well be the first rubbish game in one of the longest running series of awesome (if you exclude all the spinoff titles obviously, i'm talking resi 1,2,3,4)

apparantly the demo is a very poor reflection on the end game, and the game itself is supposed to be waaay better, fingers crossed

Definately Killzone 2 for me. I expected a whole lot and it never quite delivered (It was close, just didnt quite seal the deal!)

ace combat 6, because it only came out on 360 :( i hope they make the 7th game for ps3 too. with lots morep lanes this time. i want to see a list like hawx has :)

Pretty much all RPG's after I played Secret of Mana. I couldn't understand why they weren't all multi-player. Oddly RPG's went from mostly single player straight into MMORPG without ever focusing on small-scale multiplayer.

MGS2. I liked the first game but one thing always annoyed me- that you couldn't snap someones neck when they were lying on the ground- you had to wait for them to stand up again. Bought the MSG2 and IIRC this got me killed so I turned it off and never played it again!

Half-Life: Two issues. It was my first time really playing a PC FPS and I really disliked the quick save and auto saving etc. I was young and had loads of time on my hands so I had no problem playing goldeneye/turok for 2 hours and dying just as I was about to finish a level or reach a save point- it really added to the tension.
The second issue is that the game went to crap near the end when you went to the alien planet. HL was at it's be when you were fighting soldiers or getting your face eaten off while crawling through a vent.

Fallout 3, Farcry 2, Prince of Persia. All very pretty games with a couple of nice ideas, but it just didn't feel like there was anything much behind them. Even FO3 was just, as another thread put it, a bit "meh".

LBP since it usually crashes when I select Quick Play, either doesn't connect or fails to load back to the hub during the end of level scoreboard.

I was hyped over Killzone 2 before release, but I guess I was just jumping on the bandwagon. Now that I've played the demo and seen the beginning few hours of the game, I don't feel hooked at all, unmemorable characters and a plot I don't feel involved in. Seems the only reason to get it would be for the eye candy since the MP doesn't hook me in either. Will be a bargin bin purchase if anything (if they bring out a co-op patch).

the only reason i would agree with you about mgs2 is because there wasnt enough snake play time

Halo 3 is, in my eyes, a very disappointing game...
I was expecting too much from it I suppose, but it was awful!

Test Drive: Unlimited

For me, the map is just too big! It sucks having to drive for hours on end trying to open up save locations and garages. Also, the ridiculous AI where the police will constantly harass you for the most minor traffic infringement and unless you stop IMMEDIATELY, the fine keeps going up and up until all your hard earned cash is gone. Also, when starting the game, why does 'New Game' completely overwrite your existing save game?!

GTA:IV
OK, preordered this one, paid top-whack as I really loved San Andreas, and played it pretty much constantly for months. What a disappointment - the story line is awful, you spend half your time driving about loosing interest in the missions you're on and many of the features that made GTA:SA so much fun just weren't there in 4 - no parachuting out of jump-jets, no riding on trains, no hovercraft etc. I know it's more realistic, but it's a game - it's supposed to be a bit bizarre! Also the 'duck and cover' mode that always seems to put me on the side of the obstacle that provides no cover whatsoever.
