The GeForce GTX 1080 Is The Best Selling High-End Card Ever Released – AIBs Confirm

Just what is your beef? Gibbo has said that he has a 1000 480s in stock and he expects to sell at least 500 on the first day.

It took 3 weeks for ocuk to sell (as in dispatch) a 1000 1080s.

If 480s dont outsell 1080s in the first day it will be by day two.

You seem to follow me everywhere and quote every post i make and spout rubbish based on your fanboyism even when the facts are posted you dont back down.

Gibbo SOLD a 1000 1080s in 3 weeks ignoring preorders. Yet you seem to think that backs up 10,000s of been sold in that period.

Give it a rest and drop it Jono before i have to RTM for constant harressment.

I am not harassing you and i am sorry if you feel this way, just putting you right. :). If you want to take part in a public forum you have to accept the fact that if you are wrong, people will call you out on it.

As i said, when you are wrong, it is best to be gracious about it. It is irritating watching someone say something which then gets completely dis proven try to make out like they were never wrong in the first place.

You seriously underestimated the amount of 1080's sold and shipped. End of.

Also, why does disputing your erroneous assumption that the 1080 hadn't sold or shipped much make me a fanboy ?

I see your issue you dont read posts. 100k figure quoted looks to me to be is worldwide not ocuk.

BTW most sites that test gpu are a business, they are in a different market than ocuk but are still there to make money hard to trust one and not the other

They is still a lot decent channels out there that is unbiased Digitalfoundry is fast becoming my go to channel.

I wish OcUK had sold 100k units lol, re-read what I wrote! :)

To me it seemed like you said we sold 100k having just looked back you have shipped 2k "Sold"

So I do stand corrected! :o

Every time I see shanks post about NV I hear violins play a sad song;)

:D
I dont even hate Nvidia though and thats the Truth! I just choose not to buy there Hardware because I disagree with how they approach the PC community. It isn't about hardware!

AMD for me has done much more outside hardware for the PC gaming scene than Nvidia has ever done.

That is the only reason I will never buy Nvidia, not because I hate them and nor because I act Fanboy! it might seem I come across like that but its far from the truth.

I know what you mean. I have special place in my heart for xbox live and what it did to gaming in general.

AMD always seem to aim a little bit below the top end and then make a monster dual GPU. That's what they have done since the 4xxx series anyway.

With the way Crossfire and SLI is supported, I would be avoiding that for the foreseeable future. DX12 might improve but doubt it.

Based on the latest twitter or whatever from Raj it's going to be Nvidia all the way at the enthusiast end of the market for some time.
Still I'm not in a rush and don't actually need to replace my gpu yet so I may look to do my monitor next,
The problem there though is do I go 'G' or 'Free'.
I'm gonna need to think on that one.

So what were the 7970/290x/7990/295.

A few years ago???

7970 launch date Dec 2011
290x launch date Oct 2013
7990 launch date Apr 2013
295 launch date Apr 2014

And notice that 3 out of the 4 cards you have listed are dual gpu cards. You can do that by just buying two 480s.

And im not sure we will see a dual 480 card this time.

so 3 years since they have "had anything remotely competing with Nvidia top end. Plus havent AM|D announced somewhere that they are going after the over $350 market anymore? Which is only 2% afterall.

Because its true! in the first week I doubt 10k were sold and shipped. Worldwide numbers are 39K after 3 weeks. Thats an appalling shortage compared with the 100k+ orders.

Yet everytime i make some comment about the lack of stock you jump on my posts with "rubbish, you're talking out of your bum, they have shipped millions, blah, blah blah".

Just admit you are wrong about how many they have shipped graciously :p
