The Grand Tour

For their penultimate adventure, Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond head to Africa and it'll no doubt be an outing to remember.
The Grand Tour: Sand Job will see the trip head to the remote African country of Mauritania, where they follow in the footsteps of the Paris-Dakar rally – but, of course, there is a twist.

The group must complete their journey in cheap modified sports cars instead of bespoke Dakar racers, and their journey begins with the world's longest train.
Battling scorching temperatures and unforgiving sand terrain, filming this special was a true test for both the presenters and their cars.

The episode will be available to watch on Prime Video on Friday 16th February

Oh wait...just remembered I cancelled Prime. :D :D :D

I've been a big supporter of the trio for so many years and I still love em, but jeez that trailer just reeks of a format that has been done to death over and over, literally with the same slapstick gags. I think it's time for them to hang up the driving gloves and admit that with regard to car shows:

"Yeah, completed it mate"

* yes I'll still watch it :)

This is the penultimate special so they have already decided to 'hang up the driving gloves'

Prediction - everyone will have high expectations, it'll be like most of their recent specials (imo, good but not really great and not much really new) and then this thread will fill up with miserable comments about how it's not a revolution in TV programming and feels like the last 10 times they've done this format :p

Yeah. Fair enough if its the penultimate one. I hope for the final one they go all out and do a proper send off type one. A bit like the first ever grand tour when they drove into the desert with the packed crowd with all the other cars. They need to do something epic to end it! Hopefully they don't leave it too late and are all in good health to be able to do something cool. :)

They have already filmed it...............was in Zimbabwe. Will be shown in May 2024 on Prime

Cars used on final special filmed in Sept 2023

Lancia Montecarlo
1974 Triumph Stag
For Capri RS3100

No prizes for who drove what

My money is they all go over the falls in the final shot..................

I do like these special editions but do feel that they're all getting on a bit and it maybe time to hang up the car keys and let it die.

Saying that I'll watch them both

Great special.

"that's not a man that's drunk tonic water in all his life" :D
Hit and miss for me. Some genuinely great parts, some just annoying.
Overall decent episode though. I mean I will always watch that bunch of idiots. My main gripe being too much road, not enough rally. Though I dont think any of those vehicles or their drivers would have made it to the end of the journey had they done it in true Paris-Dakar fashion.
