The Great Big FFP Debate

Still has formed a World beating team though.

Can't argue that point tbf.
Peps got very lucky with the team he inherited and sprinkled some very good players on top. He also did this whilst his club broke FFP multiple times.

Lets not make out like Pep is whiter then white here. He has a history of cheating after all.

Did he get the job done?

Yes or no?

Simple question.

So where are we now?

Picking bones through a long old court case that will go on for years.

Point stands though. a lot of money has been thrown around all the big clubs.

Pep won the lot.

Why does whether City's money is legit or not matter when judging what Pep's achieved? Yes he's had huge resources available to him but as Nate says, Utd have had just as much (more in fact) and not achieved 1% of what he has. We've seen Chelsea **** money up the wall and achieve nothing too. Pep is without doubt one of the greatest managers ever. Again, yes he's spent loads but he's also built incredible sides and changed the way football is played (numerous times) for the better.

So it’s now Villa(who’s owners have plenty of money BTW) will now likely have to sell their big players to the Sly6 to comply with FFP(remind me again what part of it is fair), just because they wanted to try and grow their club and compete, FFP completely designed to keep the top6 status quo and not let anyone else join the party.

So you think its perfectly healthy and sustainable to lose that kind of money year in year out?

Were you on the toilet while all the stuff about Everton was going on? Everything you're claiming about Villa also applied to Everton 18 months and now Everton's owner no longer will keep covering the losses and Everton are now paying (pro-rata) £40m odd per season in interest payments because the club cannot pay it's bills and every other month is having to borrow even more money because they can't pay the bills and interest on the money already owed. Everton are now facing the very real prospect of administration because Moshiri "wanted to try and grow the club and compete" but then decided he didn't want to keep losing money.

And btw, it's not FFP. It's PSR - profit and sustainability rules - because clubs, under the PL rules that pretty much every club agreed to, need to be profitable and sustainable. Losing £2m per week is neither profitable or sustainable.

Over 5-10 years absolutely not, but over 1-5 years why not, Villa are in a phase where they are trying to grow to join the “top6” party, but the current FFP rules make it impossible it’s basically 2 years and you’re out.

Losing approx £600m over 5 years is sustainable? If Villa's owner gets hit by a bus tomorrow I assume you'll step in and stump up the £100m+ they need each season?

So you want to tar every current and new owner with the same brush?
Everton ****** up, so you’re now saying no other club owner, new or otherwise can try and grow their club, to compete and try to win the league and become a global brand? Growing a club takes money, something the current FFP/P&S stops unless you’re already at the top of the tree.
What you’re saying is the complete definition of the closed shop you want, Manchester United, Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs have grown their worldwide brand, what you’re saying is no other club should be given the same chance, just incase they do an Everton.

Don’t pretend you’re worried about another clubs welfare if they get into financial difficulties, all your bothered about like 99% of all other fans is your own club and if you can attract the best players play in the best competitions, if another Manchester City or Chelsea come knocking again.
