The Great Preseason Thread

Going to be interesting to see how the Arsenal/United/Spurs/Chelsea battle goes for the 3rd and 4th spots for sure. Every squad rebuilding.
 
Spuds/chelsea for 3rd and 4th respectively for me. Arsenal still lack squad depth to put a consistent top 4 challenge together whilst playing other competitions, midfield is also pretty weak and man u lack quality all over the place.

Our midfield isn’t that weak at all. We have

Partey
Xhaka (better than people give him credit for)
Zinchenko
Odegaard
Viera
Lokonga
Elneny (see Xhaka)

If we managed to add Tielemans then it wouldn’t be weak in any way.

Zinchenko's more a wb/fb
Odegaard attacking mf
Viera attacking mf

You got lokonga and elneny to cover party and xhaka, and they are both not good enough

The three players you mention are versatile. They’ve all played in CM many times. We are not limited to Elneny and Lokonga as backup. Even Ben White is fairly accomplished at DM.

and Milly can play either FB role for us, Hendo/Fab can play CB, would I class them as cover or want any of them anywhere near either of those positions...hell no. Of course you are going to stick up for your team, my opinion is that outside of the 112 attacking midfield options you have the middle of the park is weak and probably the weakest (bar Man u) of the 'top 6'.

Well, you beli what you want to. You seem to be quite insistent that upyou know my team better than I do, but whatever, as I said, just adding Tielemans will round it off nicely.

Its called an opinion champ, you arsenal boys are very touchy aren't you.
 
Should be interesting to see what the starting 11 is, expect it will be what we see for the game against city at the weekend as Ali is still injured.
 
Given that the CS is on Saturday and that there's only 5 subs for that game, it's not a massive surprise that we've started the way we have today. You don't really want to put 150+ minutes in 3 days into the legs of the side that's going to be starting away at Fulham in 10 days time. I guess it'll be 60mins or so for the majority of the starting line-up and then they'll start the friendly on Sunday.
 
We played a behind closed doors friendly against Wrexham today. A chance for some of the youngsters and new signings to play it seems. Both Martinez and Eriksen played. Eriksen scored a freekick in a 4-1 win.
