So, OCUK are now telling me they have no idea when the stock for my Hybrid is going to arrive...

So I was 2nd inline, 5 came in stock, then amazon orders knocked me down queue.

Now I have no idea when my order is being fulfilled, despite ordering on 1 Jun, 15, 2:25 pm!!!!

Not really sure why the hybrid is in short supply, its just a reference board with a different shroud and aio slapped onto it. Not like there's a ton of added complexity in making it.

It would be really nice if Gibbo, could give some input on this EVGA hybrid situation.

I moved my lunch break that day to be ready to pounce when the cards went up and was refreshing the page until the hybrid was posted.

It must have only been mins between it going up and me ordering...

... that was 3 weeks ago!

eta is the 26th, yet they're saying they have no idea when they will be in?

Guys im in a conundrum, I currently have a 1080p monitor but a 4k tele, now naturally I wanna play games in 4k so that would mean two 980Ti's for buttery smooth FPS (in most games at least) but that would mean i'll still have my 1080p monitor, the other option is one Ti but a 1440p monitor (The swift), do you think it's worth going for the two 980's for the wow factor of the 4k gaming on the tele and general browsing on the 1080p monitor? I mean I feel the 4k one makes the most sense since all i'll do on my monitor is browsing and the occasional game but for some reason pairing two of these on a 1080p monitor even when I own a 4k tele feels a bit weird

Someone tell me two of these in glorious 4k is worth it more than one with a 1440p monitor, anyone!! haha :p

Well I'm happy to give you my 2 cents worth...

I love my 1440p ROG Swift but it's been 18 months since it was first announced and there are new editions around the corner with IPS, Widescreen and 4k options..

http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/news_archive/33.htm#asus_pg279q

If I were buying a monitor today I would either go 4K or widescreen 3440 x 1440 resolution. I'm a fan of G-Sync technology...or the Freesync equivalent but that's just choice...

I think there will be newer options available in Sept-October...

My plan is to get the single best 980ti I can get now and stick with my 1440p and wait for Pascal to move to 4k Glory...

Could be that 4K is ready for the big time with Fury X or Fury X2 but 4K and/or 3440 x 1440 are the future!

I'd get one and the swift, tv's aren't generally that great for gaming and if you are sat back from the tv you can probably drop a couple of settings and still get decent frame rates anyway

The only thing that makes me want a swift above the monitors coming out is I do enjoy games like CS etc where the response times of a TN panel shine a bit more, which is why I was going to use my tele for the eye candy games with the great colour reproduction etc, and the swift for my faster paced FPS type games

having both 4k and 1440p monitors i personally prefer the 1440p 144hz for fast paced games (bf4, witcher etc) and RPG (slow paced) games on the 4k. Its not so much the response time (which is nice) its the butter smoothness of 144hz gameplay. if you havent used a 120-144hz monitor before its the same kind of feeling as going from 1080p-4k, it makes 60fps feel like 30fps. its all down to preference i guess.

I tend to use the 4k for slow paced eye candy games like skyrim etc and desktop work where i prefer the better resolution, but games like bf4 i use the swift as i far enjoy it on 1440p 144hz than i do on 4k at 60hz.

I would suggest getting/trying both before making a decision.

Hi guys,

Just thought I'd share with you some very simple benches I ran in Unigine Heaven. Yeah, I know, not the best benchmark software but I like my benchmark numbers in FPS, not some seemingly arbitrary score.

Rig
Asus Rampage IV Extreme
i7 3930K @ 3.2 Ghz OC'd to 4.4 Ghz
16 GB DDR3 @ 1600Mhz
2xManli 980 Ti

Benches
2560x1600 - High, No AA - SLI = 168
2560x1600 - High, No AA - No-SLI = 89

2560x1600 - Ultra, 8x AA - SLI = 109
2560x1600 - Ultra, 8x AA - No-SLI = 56

Quite happy with the differences between having the SLI on and the SLI off. Seems like it has great returns at the higher settings (95% increase on Ultra!). Staying well above 110 FPS in Battlefield 4 on highest settings at 2560x1600 as well.

Just thought I'd share these for people wondering if getting two would be worth it even at less than 4k res.

Look what I just fitted. Whooo Haaa Haa Haa Haaaaaaaarrrrrrr

I would get a swift every day of the week. Best £750 I have spent in a very long time.
