Ordered the Zotac AMP Edition :D I couldn't put it off any longer.

@Above, EVGA has a 5 year warranty vs the 3 with Inno3D and you can always overclock it to match/beat the speeds.

Just writing to remind everyone how nice it is to erase the old drivers properly (using something like the DDU utility from Guru3D).
It fixed a couple of issue I was having with clocks and possibly even coil whine (indirectly by tuning the voltage).

Gigabyte G1. Whats the acceptable temps for this card to run at load. Im getting 80 in project cars 5760x1080 about the same in grid autosport. Case closed and it is a warm room around 30 degrees. Is that acceptable to run for long gaming sessions it does seem to hold it there. I know from benches that it goes mid 80"s but whats not clear is is it ok to run consistently at these temps between 74 and 80 where all my games seem to put it within my environment. Of course I can take the case cover off and drop it down 5 degree"s but that just makes it a dust magnet. Secondly does this card bottleneck 2700k at 4.5ghz. Im guessing a second would be a waste of money?

Going by reviews, those seem to be the temps when gaming after 10 minutes. Which 980ti do you have? Is it reference or aftermarket cooler? Also, case and case fans may help.

Yeah its the Gigabyte G1 windforce. I have always had the case open for the last couple of years but got a new case recently and this time am keeping the case door on to save on dusting so obviously its dumping all the heat inside. Dont get me wrong it looks the business and am happy with what its giving me above my 290x to me it feels like its working much harder to cool it than that card. I guess i have just been spoilt by the lightning. As long as its universally acceptable to game consistently at those temps as is designed to do then ill be happy to feel more comfortable.

if you havent already put a custom fan profile in afterburner the default one will be set so that it reaches 100% fan speed at 91c, set a custom one so it receives 100% at 85c or lower your preference.

Had a little play with my Zotac Amp this morning. +110 on the core and +50 on the memory is the only thing I've tried. Seems to be loving it.

Fan is nice and quiet and at 85% fan speed is quieter and cooler than the reference Titan I removed.

Very pleased with it for the money.

Regards
Fred

Thanks will do. Thing is with this card there are plenty of benchmarks to review, with regards to FPS and have charts that mention temps, however I have yet to find source that says what its designed thresholds are for long term gaming. In comparison you have the 290x for example where it was common knowledge that this card is good for 95 degrees. which left you confident for anything you got less. With what you mention im assuming 80 degrees is well within the thermal design long term if it goes to 100% fan speed at 91, additionally I heard it starts to throttle at 86 degree"s dont know if that's true?
