No idea on how an i7 3820 would compare to a 4790k. But at 4.8ghz with sli 780's oc'd, my score in fs standard with that setup was 16290. Yet to try this 980ti on fs as the cpu is currently at stock whilst im updating a few games.

Still nice that its beating 2 780s when overclocked. The 780 still holds its own @1400p

Really don't know whether to buy a 980ti or a fury x :(

4670k @ 4ghz is going to hold me back at all? not really any point in upgrading my cpu at the minute anyway even if it's not though right?

Every fibre in my body is telling me I should order a MSI GTX 980 Ti Gaming 6G

meh what's a good monitor to buy for it? currently running with a XL2411T 1920x1080 @ 144hz.
I think I need more inches , I don't really wanna spend loads of money though 300-500 would see me with a decent upgrade?

also I think my psu is like 600watts will I need a new one?

Every fibre is right there dude! Honestly I recommend the MSI gaming cards to everyone. Very fast and very quiet even at high fan speeds.

As for bottle neck,I have a [email protected] and it does not bottleneck my Titan x in any way

Do it...you know you want to :D

Supposed it could be that.

Well I've played some pcars and bf4 with
+40 mV
109% power
85 temp
+110 core
+120 mem

custom fan.

I was boosting to 1464 and 1477 all the way through no problem. So will probably just leave it at that. So much better than my 680 sli.

Doubt I'll bother buying another for SLI until I get my 4k monitor next year.

Which card would you say?

EVGA GeForce GTX 980Ti Superclocked ACX 2.0
https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-288-EA

or

MSI GeForce GTX 980Ti Gaming 6144MB
https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-287-MS

Never had an EVGA car but here good things.

Trouble is: Running on a SyncMaster 2232 @ 1680 x 1050.

Not the best monitor I know and have been saving to replace the thing for what seems like an eternity. I'll have enough to replace it in July to go to 27" 1440p 144Hz.

i7-3770K @3.90 GHz, 256GB Samsung SSD, Sapphire Vapor-X 290, 16GB Ram

Anyone thinking of getting one of these, it's a resounding yes from me. Only had this card installed a few hours and loving it so far. So much quieter and cooler than my 780's were when run individually never mind in sli.

Again,MSI gaming edition bud. Theres not much speed wise between then but the MSI card is VERY quiet.

After that you need to get a new monitor mate as thats totally wasting todays graphics cards. Jumping from 1080p to 1400p is the best graphical upgrade Ive made in the last 6 year

Someone on the EVGA forums is quoting an email from EK stating they don't plan to make a block for the Classified. If true, I'm not sure I want it any more...

Having had that same EVGA card for 3 days now I can say I'm blown away by it. I would highly recommend it.

I'm currently running an LG 27MP65 27" IPS monitor but I want to move up to something with more resolution but a lot of the monitors I've seen are really expensive. Any recommendations for a decent monitor that doesn't cost as much as a 980ti ?

So I've got the MSI gaming. pushed +87mv and +150/core and fire strike crashed.

Dialed back to +110 and +40mv and ran through OK.

Fire strike score only 15788. Expected much more...like low 17000.

Combind test seems to have low utilisation..67-97%. The other tests stay at 97% minimum.

Any ideas?

you shouldn't need +87 on the stock bios - adding voltage actually takes some power so you'll just hit the limiter quicker, at +50mv I can do +170 easily

Just need the new ROG IPS to be released......but as they say "Good things come to those who wait".

Maybe the SyncMaster 2232 will have to do until then

i can do +170 on my MSI 980ti gaming's. They are really good cooling wise with a manual fan speed of 70% while gaming they are not audible over my case fans and they hover around 70-73c max on bf4 1440p 144hz maxed out, bottom one is a little cooler. So really happy with them so far :).

So I'm stable at +110. But wondering if adding too much voltage caused the crash when I tried 150 on the core. Heat wasnt an issue...at least GPU heat was roughly 67c.
