What's wrong with it? if you're complaining that the die is only touching 3/5 heatpipes that's because it's too small to touch the others (which are soldered to the centre three anyway), this cooler was designed especially for this card, it's done that way by design not by mistake/slacking.
I started a game with Afterburner and the MSI Gaming app, didn't change any settings but it seems to have auto clocked to 1380, not complaining just wondering is that ok?
Also not sure if DSR is working correctly.
Setting it to my 1920x1080 60hz HDTV I can only reach a max res of 2720 x 1536 on desktop and in game?
I can get to 3840 x 2160 on my monitors, and was able to get that res on AMDs VSR
but no matter what setting I cant get above that on my HDTV with this card. Do I need a HDMI 2.0 lead?
Why not solder a plate on the pipes when the HS is that small?
My G1 is quiet as a mouse, so not sure where this assuming loudness comes from and I am maxed clocked on it with max 67% fan under load. My mates msi can not get near and soundwise there about the same

Actually have a look at the below. Its almost like Asus designed the card to match the cooler rather than the other way round.
It's a bit of both, the new DirectCU 3 cooler was designed to debut with this card* but the card is a custom design, the reason it looks so weird is because ASUS are the first to use a new automated design/production process, the cards are made by machines not men.
*Though it actually debuted first on the Strix 390X as ASUS rushed that out and needed a cooler that could handle the heat.

Hi
Yes sorry I didn't make it too clear this is the Hybrid card. At this stage it is not confirmed but will be 5 units minimum hopefully up to 10.
July 7th is the latest date these will land, I hope they might come a little sooner.
Ben
Does increasing memory to 8000mhz actually make any difference as when I raise mine it makes very little difference.
