The GTX 980 Ti owners thread.

Damn this 980ti is good, only running it at stock while my AOI EVGA coolers arrive.

Currently using the one at 4k (second due to arrive in a few days) & can't believe how nice the 40" 4k philips looks. Coming from 24" 1080p it's incredible the difference.

I was thinking to myself ok the G1 it is then saw your quote edit and thought "mother of god why do i read this forum whyyyyyyyyyyyy"

Hi, what did you go for int he end? im in a similar position, basically looking at the same 2 cards. is there any other reason apart form nosie to choose between the 2? My current cards a gigabyte, but are either MSI or Gigabyte perceived as "better" do you know? If its just down to peoples personal preference between the makers, i'll probably go MSI

Guys the real world gaming difference between the MSI Gaming 6G and Gigabyte G1 is so small honestly. They are both awesome performance wise and both will boost from 1300-1400 out of the box without bother.

The biggest difference is simply at 100% fan speed the MSI is 2200rpm, the G1 at 100% fan speed is 4200rpm, so it doesn't take much to see which is quieter. I am not saying anyone is going to lock their fan speed to 100%, but if both cards fan speeds are on the same percentage the MSI will be spinning considerably lower every time. This also means the G1 has more cooling headroom and is able to run slightly cooler depending on how much noise affects you.

Coil whine seems to be a bit of a lottery but I have none on my MSI Gaming 6G. To be honest I have heard more reports of coil whine on the G1, but that could just be because it has sold more and YMMV.

None atm lol, comes down to aesthetics i think in the end.

I think it is the heat pipes on the MSI which puts me off i really just don't know.

stock is a lie unless there is some way to turn off gpu boost

This is such a sad first world problem: G1, 6G, Inno3D, Zotac Extreme, ACX2, Classified, HoF, Strix, Hybrid... There is not a single model that would be bad choice.

I'll be selling my headphones tonight and I'll push that confirm order button, so far it looks like it'll be the Zotac Extreme.

Finally!

Goods Shipped:
£541.66 x 1 - EVGA GeForce GTX 980Ti Hybrid 6144MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (06G-P4-4990-KR)
£0.00 x 1 - NVIDIA PROMOTION: Batman Arkham knight PC Game - Email Download

Roll on tomorrow woo!

:O When did you order? I ordered mine last week and it said due 17/07.. which it still does.

Tried the DSR settings for the first time. Awesome in pcars. Better than using pcars dxx settings I think.

But tried it in BF4 and it looks pants over its own scaling option. So will use a mixture of both depending on game.

I'm on a 1080p monitor and enabled 1.78 (1440) 2.25 (1620) and 4.00 (4k).

Many of them will (also why point out the worst case scenario XD), I would do it, they perform very well under water. It'll be just as good as the Hibrid, besides the looks (and backplate), for just 550£!

Watch in 4K if you can. :)

Very amateur type video:p

At the start, when i right clicked the Nvidia folder, i was holding the SHIFT key, this allows you to open as command prompt. The rest is simple, just follow what i type. :)

I STILL CAN'T DO IT!!

I'm getting an error code and unable to flash bios but it goes to quickly for me to read properly.
