just out of curiosity, are any of the guys and gals here that have the Zotac amp! 980 ti, experiencing throttling at random intervals even when not overclocked?. (well on any 980 ti i guess).

ive ran my card at 100% stock and even when playing not very demanding games, the voltage limit and utilisation limit invert on afterburner and i see a massive performance drop in-game.

not even hot either, its loading at about 67 degrees and gpu usage was at about 58% so wasnt even stressing.

have myself a beefy gold rated superflower psu and not much else in the system so cant figure out why it keeps throttling... (well that and the CTD's and one fan rattling like an old womans kneecaps)...

Change it to "prefer maximum performance" if you want your clock maxed out regardless of how demanding the game is


I've not had any issues but games that put really low load on the gpu might

Would this substantially increase your running temps ? Even at idle ? Or just in game or not at all really ?

Read that review and its a nice card but I expected it to blow away the MSI and the Gigabyte especially as it will cost a bit more. Seems so so. I think top contender would be the MSI 6G at the moment

My TI arrived today, its been a long time since ive had a nVidia card (GTX 260) obv a nice step up from a OC 7970, shame its got a lowish ASIC quality 58.5%, but so quiet, and its nice Batman doesnt cluck about

Good thought arknor, though one of the first things i do when I get a card, is smack that right up to prefer Max performance. I did double check in case I forgot but its deffinitley on so not sure what else it could be?

When Nvidia & or MSI knock £100 off the £599.99 I will buy one I can wait as GPUs do not really sell in the summer months sooner or later the prices will move to more realistic levels as stock levels are high

What kinda volts increase do you guys do for the 980-ti?, I'm running now at 1450 boost at stock volts & 10% power.

My EVGA Superclock is boosting to 1480mhz on core and 2030mhz on Vram with the power limit 109% and stock volts.

Saying that, I cant get that much more out of it with extra volts so not worth bumping them up.

According to that review as well, Asus have knocked the default clock down from 1216 to 1190Mhz for retail cards.

Who in their right mind would pay a whole load of extra money for this card?

The mind boggles.
