Well I've finally had the courage to buy a second 980ti amp extreme, an Asus PB287Q 4k monitor, a corsair obsidian 900D and some corsair SP and AF fans to replace the stock ones. My stomach hurt while looking at the price and hitting the buy now button but I figure if I'm gonna build a gaming rig, I might as well do it properly.
The only thing i'm concerned about is the spacing between the 2 cards, they will fit but barely, im hoping the 900D will provide enough airflow from the front intake fans (I'll be removing the hard drive trays) to blow over and cool the top card. If it doesnt work and the top card runs hot i guess i'll have to consider a new motherboard. Everything will be here on saturday anyway so I'll update with my impressions of what it's like running a 980ti sli setup.
It's the only way with a 4K screen.
No worries, twin frozer was 50C IDLE / 75C+ at load
AIO is 28C - 30C IDLE, 50C+ at LOAD.
Fans are controlled via front panel, these temps are at min fan speed.
Noticed in 3D Mark 11 it keeps constant 1520mhz core now, whereas before it would drop every so often.
Nice improvement, the card / PCB is ideal for AIO as it has brace, backplate and VRM cooling, AIO with fan is ideal.
Should I be concerned that my G1 is reaching 75c when playing BF4?
70% fan speed and a 1464 boost clock
a lot of reviews on the G1 state a load temp of 70c but that's with the stock clock on the card, so I guess boosting it from 1291 to 1464 will result in a higher temp?
I guess having a hot room will make a difference too?
Anyone else with a G1? what are your temps like
So my evga 980ti Coil whines when it gets to 950-1000 FPS on menus, I could easily do frame limiters, and anything below that is fine. But the question I'm looking for, is it normal? and without limiters would I damage my graphics card?
