what power supply do you have? its generally inadvisable to use converters for pcie power, but you can if you absolutely have to, but its a good idea to check how much power your psu is capable of supplying
if that is the cable they supplied with the card then it should be ok to use, pin 8 is only an extra ground, but a bit odd it is missing entirely
Very nice Boom.
Is it possible to change the radiator fan? How is it plugged/wired in?
Awesome looking hybrid Boom!
Couple of questions if you don't mind...
Does the AIO fan have any LED's to it? If not, does it look replaceable for one which does?
And does it matter where I mount it? I was thinking of having it on the front of my case where the air comes in but don't know if this would mess up the air flow. I have a corsair 540. Never owned a hybrid before hehe.
Seriously considering buying one of these for SLI in the future.
I'm tempted to switch one of my G1's for one Boom, and your comments aren't exactly helping!!!! I reckon it'll bring the total system noise@load down quite a bit...
Does the fan stop at idle? Or is it really really quiet??
Not sure how it plugs into the actual card bud. Installed now so can't look. Next time I'm in there I will take a look. The fan is really quiet. Wouldn't bother changing tbh unless you want to run push / pull with matching fans. I'm getting max temp of 52C during gaming with single fan low RPM.

Cheers, no worries. The LED is on the cards shroud. Changes color according to temp I think, I can't see in my case now it's installed. The Windows is against Sub.
You can change the fan to intake or outtake, I would def have it as an exhaust, doing a great job of dumping the heat outside the case. Got mine mounted in the top of case.
The cooler is really good, can't get over that VRM heatsink lol. Think I might stick with Hybrids from now on. So much better getting 52C VS 83C.
Hybrid Pascal with HBM 2.0 next me thinks. Inno3D have won we over with this card, would def buy from them again. Absolute monster.

Might be interested in buying this from you when you sell it next week.
Has anyone had their MSI 980Ti G6 overheat? I've had a bit of a strange problem over the past few days since upgrading the GFX drivers, and it appears that my card my be overheating. I have no idea why because I have changed nothing, except the drivers, but now I keep getting full system shutdowns, not crash, fully turns off. If I try and turn it on right away, I get no video output, whereas if I give it a few minutes, it'll start up fine.
I could do about 10-15 minutes of GTA or MGS before it would crash like this. I just ran GTA with the fan speed set at 100%, which oddly didn't sound as loud as I remember, and no crashes happened.
RPM reports to be at around 2300 @ 100%, not sure if this was always the case or not.
Just wondering if anyone has had anything similar? I've not had time to dig into it fully yet myself.
Mine runs hot, but I have 80% fan curve and 2x SP120 blowing on the heatsink so it hovers around low 70s.
Run AB overlay and see what temps you are reaching. I'd expect 90C would be required for system shutdown?
