1440 vs 2160 is a big difference...temps wise, heat wise, power wise

My MSI Gaming 6G was fine @ 1080 until I went to 4K!

My msi gaming 6g was fine at 4k temps wise, the only reason it had to go back was a fan reverberation issue. Not really sure why you can't accept airflow in the case was your issue. Plenty of reviews out there showing it fine at 4k.

Happy to accept it if it were true but in my case its simply not so! (moses handed me a tablet in stone with my case is cool so it must be true

).

The backplate traps heat under 4K thats a serious heat issue in some but not all current games! Mine even had way too much thermal paste on it & the screws attaching the HSF to the GPU were not even fully tightened up either they have losened with the high RPM fan vibration or were never fully tightened to begin with.

Now mine is under an G10+H55 AIO case temps have actually dropped 10-15C yet my case airflow is actually slightly worse :eek:

Its not just me either I found on other forums users in EU & US talking specifically about high temps with the MSI 6G & they have a multitude of different cases/airflow.

And what was the reason for the other cards burning out? They all just happened to have similar issues? My strix also has a backplate and has no heat issues. And to say its an inferior case compared to what's in the market these days is pretty much fact, and I'm not in the minority in that opinion. Cases now have tons more options for airflow and layouts that completely un restrict airflow, the corsair 540 for example.

My Inno 3D Air Boss UltraX4 980Ti also has a backplate and in an Enthoo Pro M Midi Tower with 3X PH-F140SP fans at 44% has gpu temp of 55c Max playing FarCry4 at 3180X2160 all Ultra settings everything on. Excellent air cooling who needs water.

My gaming editionis probably the quietest, coolest running card I've ever owned. Normally I'm a gigabyte wf fan, owned 460, 670 and 780?of theese cards lately. They used to be my yardstick for temps and noise. Now obviously they're not perfect for sli. But I bought the msi Ti, and cannot fault it st all . The cooler is brilliant. I've got a 650ti in another rig that uses the dame style of cooler. Now I haven't cleaned it in two years, thick with dust and still runs cool.

My new cpu has really opened up this card to amazing levels. Quite crazy how much my previous CPU was holding it back.

On my reference cards i use 1 degree : 1.5% fan speed ratio. Gets quite loud but temps don't go over 69 degrees.

does anyone know if removing the msi sticker on the screw voids warranty?

MSI are usually ok with it as long as you don't do any harm.

Yep MSI will have no issues if you don't damage it while installing a different cooler.
