The GTX 980 Ti owners thread.

It's pretty crazy how that one review on Guru3D had everyone ecstatic about the G1 and that single German video I linked now has the web in panic mode ("should I get ACX or G1!?!?!?" topics all over). I'll post my results when it arrives. My case is fairly airy and has 4 fans already so I'm hopeful.

My experience of single Windforce in the past has only been positive so fingers crossed. If it blows (... no pun) I'd probably look to the MSI in July.

Yeah lol I instantly jumped on the G1 after the Guru3D review but then quickly changed to the MSI. As I say it's very unlikely it will be that loud in a closed case, but at the same time it's a fact two slower spinning 100mm fans are still going to be quieter regardless, unless you account for unpredictable coil whine. I think you will really enjoy the G1 while I wait 3 weeks for the MSI and scan all the Fury reviews.

Odd, redeemed the code, still not showing up in my Steam... Will it appear when the game is out or will I have to wait?
Pre-Order games on Steam should still show up under All Games normally, just you won't have an option to download them yet (unless the devs allow pre-loading of some content).

I ordered the hybrid at 7:47 pm on the first and was told I'm number 7 in the queue , it still says in warehouse queue so mustn't have had many in today, oh well I can wait as I'm busy this week anyways

While I don't think the fans were at 100% in that scary video, I think it's a given it will be less noisy than that in a normal case environment. Noise is a lot less of a problem with the Windforce coolers as well when they are in single card operation.

Things can be very different with 2 open air coolers heating each other up though. Setter might have more knowledge of how they are in that sort of situation as I've never used dual GPU unless on one PCB. I've gone for the Twin Frozr and if I do go SLI with 4K I would be inclined to team it up with the Hybrid cooler from the MSI/Corsair collaboration.

Definitely not ideal in sli, particularly on a mobo with a one slot gap. I found the wf cooler started to get noticeable once the fan hit 65%. Custom fan profile of a 1-1 setting, highest temp I ever got on the top card was 85c. Bottom one never once above 65c.

Interested to see other people's opinions on the fan that comes with the Hybrid heatsink. Thinking I might replace it with a Corsair SP120 like I did for the H100i

Shiver I'll be replacing the fan on mine first thing before I fit it, I have 2 spare SP120's laying around. It will match the rest then but it will most likely perform better too.

Just ordered a hybrid before the 'in stock premium' gets added, can't believe the Asus reference is £630!.

Hoping I haven't actually paid this much VAT!!!

Wow hope my setup doesn't require that kind of fan RPM. Two ACX SC on a Maximus Hero VII in a H440 case. Hopefully if I take the front panel off I can get away with a 50-60% fan profile.

1-1 fan profile would be way too crazy for me, especially with temps still going to 75+.

Will find out tomorrow.
