The GTX 980 Ti owners thread.

EVGA GeForce GTX 980Ti Superclocked ACX 2.0 finally dispatched about 15 minutes ago, was 11th in the queue. (Along with a Samsung U28D590)

Should be nice and busy, either tomorrow or Wednesday, putting in my Corsair 250D (small case but the vented side panel is ideally placed)

Ouch, 85 on the top card is 1 degree hotter than my Reference cooler. I'd say if you had a double spaced gap between the cards the top one's temps would be much lower.

Has it affected the mobo and CPU temps as well?
It did raise cpu temps a fair bit. At 4.7ghz the 4790k in sig got Upto 75c. That's without an fps limit. If I limited the cards to 60fps they ran a lot lower but so did the cpu, 60-65c max depending on the game. Never seen board temps high though. The armour shield on the M6 formula board seems to help dissipate heat a bit. I ran wf 670's in a 2 slot gap z77 v pro, temps on those cards were pretty ok. 73c max on the top one.

Mine has been sat at 'In our warehouse queue' since ordering, only today it changed to 'Printed in warehouse' (or something like that) About an hour after that I got the shipping emails.

Can't remember who said they were second in line on here now, wonder if theirs shipped? OCUK can't have got many of this card.

I hope you get yours soon.

Mine still says in warehouse queue, as it has done since just after I placed the order.

I was told I was second in line, so I guess they only got 1pc in from EVGA :(

I have put off getting it from other etailers, trying to stick with OCUK, but feeling a bit let down if I'm honest...

Didn't mind the delay.. Worked to my advantage..

1st.. Order my Sammy monitor at the same time and got it at the price from 2 weeks ago weekly deal (and still cheaper than this weeks deal)
2nd.. Paid via Paypal and didn't get option for UPS delivery (to local delivery point), phoned up OCUK and they upgraded it there and then free of charge. DPD have been a nightmare before (and I can't guarantee i'll be home), and I just want a simple collect option all of 2 minutes away.

Are you guys dead set on Nvidia though? There should be plenty stock next week if you don't grab a card now so if you guys can hold out to see what the Fury X is all about tomorrow and make a decision from there, wouldn't that be wiser?

I didn't imagine they would only have 1, I thought 3-5 would be the incoming stock level. That's disappointing, it doesn't sound like OCUK's fault though. :(

lol the £10 you save elsewhere you save with free next day delivery from OCUK anyway.

Also some of the other retailers are a pain in the **** if anything ever goes wrong.

I only ever buy from elsewhere if it's significantly cheaper and even then I'll only buy from a few places.

Many years ago, I purchased a motherboard from ** Do not mention competitors **, it would fire up then instantly power off...

Eager to complete my build I ordered a new one for quicker delivery then returned the first one for a refund.

Turns out there was nothing wrong with the first motherboard, the case had an extra stand-off where it shouldn't and the board was turning off when it sensed it...

Did ** No competitors ** try out the board and say there was nothing wrong with it?

Nope they put it under a digital microscope and took photos of where I must have scrapped some 'lacquer' off on the edge of the board whilst fitting the back plane of my graphics card. They said because the scratch crossed over two lanes they must have be cut, and returned the board telling me it was my fault for damaging the board.

They also accused me of trying to cover up the scratch with thermal paste (more photo's of a grubby fingerprint near the scratch) I honestly don't recall having any thermal paste on my fingers when removing the board, but I'd just removed a heat sink so I might have done.

I pointed out the lanes they accused me of damaging looked fine on their picture and only the lacquer looked damaged. They said it was enough to refuse a refund...

As I mentioned earlier - it turns out there was ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with the board as a mate of mine I gave the board to and still uses to this day will attest to. Yes I was a numpty for not doubly checking the standoffs, but the moral of this whole story is how far some slightly cheaper companies will stoop to when you go to them for aftersales support to weasel out!

Tbh it would depend on the price and type of cooler. I do have a 980ti on preorder but it wont be in stock till next month maybe.

This exactly. Before I realised the error of my ways, I purchased a monitor from them and when it developed a fault, they were useless in helping me resolve it. Luckily it was still under warranty and ASUS were brilliant at resolving it in the end but Scan were absolutely useless.

When ever I've had queries, support needs or have had to do an exchange OCUK have come through for me. My sense is that at OCUK, they are enthusiasts as well so appreciate the community and the special needs that PC enthusiasts have.

Worth an extra 5% here and there.
