The GTX 980 Ti owners thread.

Owners. Am I gonna see a step up if I buy 1 of these vs my 680 sli 2GB?

Thinking I want 2 of these and a 4k screen over the next 6 months.

Think it of adding another 680 to your two with 100% scaling, no SLI issues and a much better memory bus to use.

What does everyone recommend these days for GFX monitoring and overclocking, Afterburner or Precision X?

The people who said Maxwell loves water weren't kidding, runs 40'c cooler under load then it does on the stock cooler. Runs cooler under water then my old 680 did too.
 
If your under h20 your better re-flashing the bios. MSI's software is limiting and you can max out the software on air cooling anyway without it throttling.
 
I was wondering, does all the 980Ti's have Hynix GDDR5 Vram ?


Also I can't resist the temptation so I've sold my remaing 2x 970's in my other and getting at 3rd MSI GTX 980Ti for my main rig :D... then I just need to find a cheap GTX 680 or so for the other rig - it'll be fine with that :D

I'm tempted to try the custom bios to see how much further I can push this card. So far I have hit 1510Mhz boost on the core and 7720Mhz on the ram. I'm happy with this but also curious to see what how much extra I can get if any. :)

Really is very good core.

I needed to flash bios with 1.274v to get those speeds stable.

Well, i still need to do more testing, but seems stable.
 
Well, given the graphics head honcho's spat (for undisclosed reasons) with Gainward, if you want one of the above, you won't be buying it at OCUK!

I've had numerous gainward/palit cards and theyv e all been rubbish clockers, I would never buy another no matter what claims they made anyway :D

From my testing so far it equals or sometimes just beats my old 970SLI setup.
So I think you will see a nice improvement.

Oh that's so great , my evga superclocked acx just turned up totally out of the blue .
Thought I'd have to wait another 10 days or so and just about to jump ship to the standard card. Can't wait to get it in . :) one happy shopper
