The GTX Titan X owners thread.

Yeah... it's really easy... was one of the first things I did to my 2x Gigabyte cards... there are some good power limit unlocked BIOSes based off the EVGA SC on the Overclock.net forums

Yep, if you follow the guide on the overclock.net forum in the "Titan X owners" thread, it gives you a step by step on how to use nvflash to do it. You used to have to reinstall GPU drivers but now there is no need. Just reenable the card in device manager and reboot. The only "issue" you will have is you will have to alter the commands slightly as shown as you have triple SLI.

With a WC setup, it would be a shame not to exploit the higher clocks as your temps should stay low. I suspect you can run them at or above 1500MHz core all the time. I have mine at 1400MHz core on air and its fine at the moment. I will put it into the loop when I get a second TX. I generally use quick disconnects and it makes life sooo much easier when it comes to switching out GPUs.

My card is ready for some modding work to begin :)

Adding E Power?? Otherwise its not modding!!

quick question for you overclockers, i have found that my card is hitting the power limit which i have set at 110% does adding more voltage help me get round this? or do i need a custom bios?

my card is hitting around 1397mhz and then it hits the power limit and throttles to around 1380mhz i what my card to stay at a steady 1400mhz when gaming

Power limit is irrespective of voltage...

Depending on your settings... you can actually hit the power limit SOONER by increasing the voltage... so you have to work on balancing it if you don't want to flash.

If you want to keep pushing... you need to flash a bios that unlocks the power limit.

I would like to flash the bios but I'm afraid of bricking it as I haven't got a spare £1000 lol. I would love someone to put up a video on YouTube that I could follow

The only way it will brick it is if you have a power cut during the 10 seconds or so it takes to flash, even then I think there are ways to reflash the card using another card.

I've not seen one report of a failed flash over on overclock.net where most users have done it.

Had to look at the correct syntax, but the options -4 and -5 don't exist not sure why you have them in there? But that's looks to be why your command is failing the only two options I used was the -6 option to specify the bios to flash and if you have dual gpus the -index option to specify the gpu to flash.

Sorry to early in the morning -6 is the override option and then the name of the bios is the separate option on the command line which specify so the bios to write if you see what I mean.
Not sure if we can actually post the complete syntax you need to use on the forum?

this is my second custom water loop the first being a pair of 480's. things have moved on since then so I felt a bit noobish but I think i've done alright.

My ambient temp is 19, i idle on the desktop at 30 and get to about 53 / 54 when gaming.

I dont know anything about clocking so when I have time I might look into it or maybe load the evga sc bios on if its easy, but for now I will get some gaming in.

Many thanks to all the forum members who have answered posts to get me here and a big shout out to the OCUK staff.

Lenny

That is fantastic, can I ask what desk that is?

Really annoyed that palit say my warranty will be void if I watercool the card. Don't know if I should install the evga hybrid cooler on it now.

Tbh if evga said my cards warranty would be invalid if I installed my aio water cooler I would have never have touched it (unless I could make sure they didn't know that it had be touched if I needed to rma it), although the procedure is fairly painless there is always a possibility something could go wrong.

Thanks for the help I got it done In the end I was very lucky not to brick my card because of my own stupidity lol. I was doing 2 things wrong number 1 as you said no need for the -4 -5, and number 2 I wasn't putting a new titanx bios on my card, My only guess is it was a 980 bios so I was very lucky not to brick the card. It's all done now though moded evga sc bios with a power limit of 121% which will keep me happy until I water cool
