To be honest, judging by how the Oculus PC store has been behaving recently and with Oculus's Quest native focus (the PC store is massively neglected), I'd be reluctant to buy games I play mainly on PC VR on the Oculus store. Only if the native Quest version is more convenient and isn't that much worse than the PC version (e.g. Demeo) would I buy it on there.

The PC version of After the Fall is massively better than the Quest version.

Thanks for that
i had a feeling there would be a big difference between PC and Quest versions
thats kinda swaying it for me, but the Oculus PC version IS cross buy, so id just be getting both versions at one price
hmm decisions decisions, if i had an index 2, it be PC version !

There's definitely a difference between the two, but in terms of gameplay, I'm more than happy with the standalone. Think I might use standalone for tonight, since it'll save on bandwidth.

apparently "revive" lets you play Oculus games on your index
@Ravenger , you tried this ?

if its true, ill just get the oculus one for tonight

Yep, it works great for most games, though some Oculus exclusives don't work due to the way the online accounts work.
However, Revive is not intended to be used with games that have ports to other platforms like SteamVR, so you may not get support from the Revive developers if it doesn't work.

im tempted to buy it on steam because im hoping to change my oculus to the index 2

Index 2 isn't even a thing yet? If saving a few quid is important to to you get it on Steam. But, I wouldn't base the purchase of any software on what headset you might buy a year from now.

I bought it on Oculus because it's crossbuy and been able to play it on the Quest 2 when I am not at my computer means a lot more to me than been able to play it on a a headset that doesn't exist yet.

I plan to keep the Quest 2 if I do buy another brand of headset next time I am buying. I will keep it for Oculus exclusives. However if I buy the next Oculus headset, I will sell the Quest 2 on.

Oh for After the Fall is there a Tutorial I have to play through first? Or can I just start the game straight away? And How will we find each other in game??

You can befriend players in game, and invite them into a party. There is a very short tutorial, maybe loadup 5 minutes before. Then it does want you to do 5 quests, just introducing you to the areas, so we can simply do the missions in that order anyway, and return to base each time for you to proceed to the next one.
