The hangout thread (organising social gaming etc)

Right, editing this to incorporate the general social aspect. If you want to join some other boardies, just post and say hello!

At the moment we have a regular hangout on Mondays at 8pm. If you have another evening you'd prefer, just say, and we'll see if we can get something else regular going.

After the fall
Watching films in Big Screen.

I've added you as a friend in rec room, or is your steam rec room different to your oculus one? I've added you as a steam friend, but I don't think that'll help in rec room, as I'll be using the quest 2 version.

I've got Shi as a friend in rec room too (imported friend). Can't see Melmac though? Maybe privacy settings?

I used to be an adventurer until i took a dozenarrows to the face and couldn't actually see...

Great fun and definitely looking forward to next week. Want to see if we can complete jumbotron.

And this is why more people should get involved!! Over the last number of weeks, there have been so many funny moments.

Get enough and we can just split up, two groups of 3 would be 2 squads in rec room royale I believe. 5 players in walkabout mini golf etc.

Rec room being free is obviously a good place to start. Runs native on quest 2 as well which helps.

Just been looking, and wondering if perhaps Valheim couldn't be an interesting option? We'd really need someone with a spare always on PC, so the world could be persistent and be picked up whenever someone fancies a run around, rather than always having to wait for the host to be available. Everyone needs the VR mod apparently (otherwise there's some graphics glitches).

Supports upto 10 players (don't know if that's 10 at once, or upto 10, regardless of online or not).

I started leaning in and out of cover a bit, but I don't have a huge amount of room, so still have to be a little careful. Jumbotron is very shootable from behind cover, it's a big screen to hit. The problem is I guess enemies just keep spawning, so you need to try and lead them around. Climbing the ladders seems like it might get away from some of them. So blast the lower two sides first, then the upper sides?

If you set it as a private game no one else can join but invited. And you can play with 3, it's just tougher.

Bloody close again. Now I think that after each tv is destroyed there's a wave. Meaning we might want to restrategise for next week!

Yeah, some amazing saves. Definitely stick together next time, they seem to spawn in at first where Melmac and I were, so let's not start there!

Had a bit of a thought. We can see the health bar of the TVs right? And the enemies only spawned when a TV was destroyed?

Might be an idea to weaken them all to a low level. So if there is suddenly infinite reinforcements from destroying one of the screens, we can just blitz the last few screens (might be a better way to do it anyway).
