The Hangover Thread

Something I thought...... !

I think what is missing from your scale is the impact of tiredness! It is one thing having a few drinks on a weekend or holiday, but the real killer is having a few to many on a school night. I find that I stay up later when drinking, and you don't get such good quality sleep, so the feeling in the morning is a combo of hangover +exhaustion. Often the best cure is a couple of hours extra sleep, but that is not possible when you have to work.

Oh yea, I really don't drink much on school nights these days because of that. I used to be able to do it when I was younger but not now.

I got into the habit of drinking John Smith's and diet lemonade 50/50.

Even if you have 3 pints of that which feels like you are drinking a fair bit, it's actually only a can and a half, and John Smith's is relatively low alcohol anyway. Less calories also.

Eating something before bed and drinking a pint of water normally helps me feel somewhat better when waking up, but recently i have found chewing 2 gavison tablets as soon as your able to and a mug of bouillon ( 1 tea spoon to full mug of hot water ) helps to no end in getting rid of the aweful feeling in your belly.

A friend who use to drink heavy reguarly on work nights used to set his alarm on his phone to go off every hour and drink a pint of water when it did, altho been absolutely knackered he suffered from zero hangover, or so he said. Never tried myself.

Started drinking vodka over ice at around 21.05, by 00.15 I’d had maybe 200 ml, put the bottle back in the freezer, put the kitchen clock forward, brushed my teeth and went to bed.
Woke up at 09.30, which in my head was 08.30, got up 15 minutes later feeling fine and put the percolator on.

I was so hungover on Saturday that I was too hungover to even post in this thread to say how hungover I was. A solid 7, couchbound from 10AM to roughly 2PM (after going to be at about 3AM), and I've still got a bit of carpet tongue today.

Getting old :(

Had 2 pints of this 6% cloudy IPA at a micropub on Sunday night followed by 6 pints of snakebite at another bar. Woke up 7am Monday morning for work with no hangover although a little tired what with not getting to bed until after 1am.

Yesterday, started drinking about 4pm, went right through till 1am.

I had:
2 Large Bottles of Cobra lager
3 Small bottles of Blue WKD
about 3 or 4 normal size 330ml bottles of Budweiser
1 can (330ml) of Sierra Nevada pale ale
About 200ml of Makers Mark 46 (47% abv)
About 100ml of Woodford Reserve (43% abv)

This morning I am on a max 3.

Wednesday night, I had 1 bottle of Budweiser and at the most 100ml of the makers mark, and the next day I felt rubbish, like a 5.

Yet other nights last week, drinking very similar amounts to Wednesday night, and felt fine the next day like a 1 or 0. I don't understand why this happens.
All day drinking gives me relatively mild hangovers compared to an evening session.

Went to the club last Sunday night and had a canny session - 9 pints of 3.6% beer and a couple of Tia Maria & Orange. Had a mini lock in (not illegal as although the club shuts early it was still within licensing hours) and didn't get home until 1am. Up for work at 6.30am and in work at 8am Monday morning. 3.5 on the scale.

It was my younger daughters wedding last week ,they had a free bar all day I think if I had stuck to red wine would have been a wreck but had gin with loads of tonic ,also those rehydration treatments in the morning

Playing tarkov and warzone last night. Sank 6 beers and about 300ml of whiskey. Went to bed at 3am. No water or food before bed and up with the kids at 8am. Feel a bit tired but fine apart from that. I think you just get so used to a hangover over time that it begins to feel normal

I never do school nights tbh just a bottle of red on non work nights ,as I do 4 days that's 3 bottles (it's my vice what can I say) tbh a bottle gets me pretty drunk still and don't feel the need for more ,I also get a weird 2nd high in the morning after 3 coffee's but no hangover

Well, nearly crashed my car, managed to get super glue all over myself, tried to modify my gas BBQ, more or less broke it then set it on fire.

You'd think you'd learn but I'm drinking Brewdog "Elvis Juice" and bourbon whiskey and watching Motley Crew and Aerosmith music videos on YouTube.

I generally don’t get headaches with hangovers.. Well…one time I was on blackthorn all night - woke up with the worst headache ever, lasted a few days. :/ I’ll never drink that pig swill ever again.

I usually just stick to 5-6 doubles of whatever and that usually does me.
