Yeah height isn't an issue in slightest, it must be about 5ft high, just not enough space, they're all starting to shade each other.

Potted mine up on Sunday. They should come on very nicely now! :D

I did take some pictures but upon review they were poor quality. I may just upload them anyway...

potted mine yesterday. big late but will be in-doors anyway.

Glaucus: i have a tent and light 125clf. whats your times on them 16/8?

If you're keeping them well covered (i.e. when the lights are off natural light doesn't come into the equation) then choose anything that is suitable for you.

If it's impossible to avoid natural light the choose a schedule that fits in with that.

One of my bell peppers is reaching a decent size now, but I have just noticed that there is a wrinkly soft area on the pepper :(.

Anyone know what the problem could be? Plant looks very healthy, with about 3-4 peppers growing.

No idea what that is.

Mine have grown massively this week

Sunday or Monday depending on how bad hangover is, will have to get the raised bed in the garden filled with soil and plant some out there under a plastic greenhouse, so they have more room and aren't fighting with each other.

Only thing I can find that sound similar to the symptoms is sun scald, which it could possibly be as it was very hot yesterday. Just hope it hasnt got some sort of disease as I only have a few plants this year.

Looking good btw. I see what you mean about being over crowded. They seem to be doing great regardless though.

Is it abit late to start growing chillies now? Got a few i started, but wouldnt mind a few more.

Noticed a few of you are using what appears to be bone meal or something along with the compost, should I have done that?

Just out of interest, can peppers be left in a plastic green house and not die? Can be pretty breezy in there!

It looks like perlite. It helps aerate the soil and retains moisture. Just mix a small amount in with the soil then pot.

Your plants should be ok as long as it's not too windy. Just ensure the pots are secure and any tall plants are staked. A bit of breeze will help with pollination as well.

It actually does the opposite - it improves drainage rather than retaining water. This is a good thing with a lot of plants, especially chillies :)

Bonemeal is good to add as well, it seemed to help mine along nicely. Have never used it before, but it said to add some when re-potting on the label so i chucked some into the mix.

Got loads of chillies and peppers starting to grow now, just need some sun or they will start to drop off!

Yeah Pearlite is rocky porous pellets for improving drainage/airation.

Vermiculite is spongy pellets to help with water retention.

You can use one or the other or both to alter the soils properties without affecting the chemistry of the soil.

Is wind bad then? mine have got buds in them but no flowers, taking a bit of a buffeting but they look healthy.

Do I need to shelter them more once fruit starts growing?

Thanks

I use equal quantities of both perlite and vermicelli,
About a 3:1:1 ration. Works well for me, then chili focus as well, but not tell they're medium sized or start looking slightly yellow. Chili focus is amazing stuff.

I keep meaning to get some chilli focus, but still got half a bottle of this tomorite i'm trying to use up first.

I might grow 2 identical chillies next year and use focus on one and tomorite on the other to see if there is any difference as it is a lot more expensive than tomato feed.
