I use equal quantities of both perlite and vermicelli,
About a 3:1:1 ration. Works well for me, then chili focus as well, but not tell they're medium sized or start looking slightly yellow. Chili focus is amazing stuff.

That sounds like it would be a horrible meal

If you're keeping them well covered (i.e. when the lights are off natural light doesn't come into the equation) then choose anything that is suitable for you.

If it's impossible to avoid natural light the choose a schedule that fits in with that.

i use a grow tent 3x3x4 so no light gets in or out.

Just potted up my best ones, and had to separate a few due to whitefly. Not sure if they will live but sprayed them and left them out. It's all my curry ones so only one variety.
Others are doing well though and got 4/5 chilli's on different plants now.

That plant is looking very good.

Still yet to start growing any chillies but the flowers are all beginning to emerge.

Going to have to entrust my plans in the care of someone else over the next week as I am away on holiday.

Need to get some advice from here. My chilli plant (not sure what) has produced orange and green chilis and the orange ones have stayed small and shrivelled. The green ones seem fully developed. I'll try to remember to stick a pic up over the weekend.

I got something similar to what you've described last year.

I think it is because the flowers from which the orange small ones have grown were not been successfully pollinated. Because of this they have not developed.

Got quite a few flowers developing on mine, any tips on when, if at all to feed, and when to artificially pollenate?

Still need to get at least another 5 out the wardrobe.
And repot what ever stays. Think i'll have to go to B&Q and get another raised bed.

guys need bit of help, my seeds been in pot for awhile and nothing coming up, i carefully looked at the seeds and they are yellow and nothing coming out?

How long is a while?
Either way sounds like they have died.
Either lack of heat, to much water etc.

I never get a 100% success rate, but they do need to be warm to germanate generally. Mid 20s.

my house is always in 20c due to the insulation.

only a bit of water to germ, about 2 weeks i think, this is the 5th time i have tried even my kids plants was germed same time and they are doing great.

Oh I forgot all about the ocuk chilli threads!

I've been growing habanero, scotch bonnet, birds eye, jalapeno, and cayenne from seeds and have loads of plants to show for then and the milder ones are flowering now with the hotter ones just developing buds. I germinated them in wagamamas takeaway pots and some are still growing in them as I have ran out of space.

They're in my conservatory which gets all of the day's sun and can be heated if needed. No issues yet except a few missed waterings on some of them and a few yellow leaves on the cayennes. will try and post some pics up tomorrow!

You're behin ;) , Half the plants are stacked with chilis, the other half just stacked with flowers :)

Can't wait, ran out of my chillis a few weeks ago.

Nice load of buds on it though.

2 out door plants are doing well, two are ding fantastic, and two are limping with a simmer frame.

And new raised bed to get some more out the wardrobe, so I can see what's doing what and pollinate the flowers easier.

Run out of metal spikes, for the membrane, so have to get down B&Q tomorrow.

The wardrobe, still about ~11 plant in there, plenty of flowers and chilis. But you can't see what's what, and one has reached the grow lights.

Used my first pepper yesterday. Was as big as shop bought ones. That's pretty much paid for the plant already :D.

I used it while it as still green as i like green peppers in bolognaise sauce, but i'll allow the others to ripen till red.

Have to say growing banana peppers is immensely gratifying as they grow so fast :D

I'll take some pics we have serranos, jalapenos, bell peppers and banana peppers out on the patio, they love the sunshine :)

The bell peppers are a little problematic though as they are getting big and starting to occlude each other, will have to pay a bit more attention next time to make sure they have growing room :p

It's pretty awesome having tomatoes and chilli peppers out on the patio, instant fresh salsa :p
