Ok, so after transporting to the 3" pots, pretty much just leave them in there then. I've just put the seeds in the airing cupboard using the kitchen roll method. Fingers crossed for my first attempt.

Edit: Got some small shoots appearing now, they are all white except one which is brown, does that mean it's dodgy?

I'm not sure what a brown shoot means, but I'd get them planted as soon as they reach about 1/2 inch long, then you need to transplant them into pots. Don't make the same mistake that I did. I left them for too long and then all the roots had worked into the paper. I got them all out successfully but it was a lot of effort to work them loose without breaking any of the taproots. They only really need 3 - 5 days in the tupperware at the most.

Yep then once they get big enough pot them on to a larger pot. Maybe a 5" pot and then eventually an 8" pot. I did used to pot them on even further but they just get far too big, awkward to handle and loads of chillies went to waste!!

I have them in the propagator now, I have some nice green sprouts coming up, only a few cm tall but they're coming along ok. No sign of life from the Naga seeds.
Thanks for all the tips

Mine took a little longer to germinate compared with the other seeds. Hopefully within the next day or two you'll get some growth :)

My chilli and tom plants are growing really fast now I have setup my light. Just a 100w cfl, but seems to be helping a lot. I put them on the window sill whenever the sun comes out to save on electricity, but at the moment that is very rare.

3 weeks later...

Also I added some bonemeal to the compost when I re-potted the plants as it said to on the label and it seems to have made a difference. Will be using that in future.

Very nice progress :) Those are looking really awesome.

I got some in at the weekend, and some more I bought as small plants from the shops to help me along. I realised I have like 16 types of chilli seeds!

Hoping the Naga Vipers I put in willl shoot and the CPI Bhut Joks!

Got back from a month away at work on Friday, my neighbour was looking after my plants as usual. I was hoping to find things progressing nicely but didn't expect to find things progressing quite so well.

First pic is my Jalapenos. The big one is 2 foot tall and the small one is a foot tall (shows how important it is to pot them on, that small pot is nearly bursting with roots.

Second pic is my Cayennes. Both plants about 20" tall and both flowering already

Final pic is my solitary Habanero. Nearly a foot tall and with a very thick stem and large, healthy leaves.

I'm hopeful of a good year this year

Mine have been out in the greenshouse for a while now, don't think they are growing as fast anymore but definitely doing well as some have flowers!

One of the others even has an open flower!

Got a few flowers on one of mine, but i'm going to pot it up to a 5l from a 3l so they might drop off. With only having the one chilli plant i'd like to get as many chillis on it as possible.

I know it is a bit late but anyone grown any Bhut Jolokia, I got like 20 seeds of like 30 chilli plants.

I'm thinking of getting a grow on for indoors but would these be ok since they love the heat of the sun?

If they like heat you'll likely have a better time of it growing them indoors than outdoors.

My Naga's have finally sprouted and all the others are about 2-3" tall. When they reach the top of the propagator lids I may just take the lids off so they can benefit from the heat still.
At this rate I'll have 32 plants, no idea why I planted so many.. I'll experiment with some in the outdoor greenhouse to see what happens I guess. Just need to get some 3" pots and bigger just in case.

Late starter hence the size, no sure why the second lot are so lanky unless they just grow faster.
