Having not completed it I may not be the best judge but so far I'm really into it and barely touched the demo.
The lack of sandbox activities will harm longevity but the story so far is great. There's a few meme's in the game too - the crazy guy in prison is worth looking out for.

50% of the game is driving to and from places usually you will travel along the same route.

25% is cutscenes
5% is going to bed.
20% is gameplay

And thats a bad thing because?

For a lot of people the driving is all part of the fun, hell the driving model in the demo is what sold this game to me.

I played through it when the mod first came out and it looked that good if not better. Although the following pics are downsampled, it look just as good at fullsize as the texture res in the game is so high:

its an ok game, its a little boring after a while just driving shooting then return. it needs somthing extra to add to the game sidemissions or somthing....

screen shots don't do it justice, it's the lighting in stalker that makes the game look amazing.

To be honest, with the mod it looks and performs better than most console ports these days.

... and that's pretty much all these "new titles" have going for them, wow factor, i.e. lots of superificial glitter but not much substance.

I love the Stalker graphics, it has a lot more grittier real look, similar to the source engine graphics (Like Portal 2), I much prefer that look.

I absolutely hate the plastic look like the new Rage has, just doesn't look immersive at all, It's like if you stand in the sun too long you will melt
