Those HL2 pics looks great

the only thing is some of the appearance of the models have changed too much I feel, is it true there are different versions of the main character models and have you got any pics of what the others look like?

Thanks for posting that mate, those models are really impressive, the updated version of the original Alyx model looks awesome.

Do you get those model options with the other characters as well?

All the other characters you can either choose from the original valve models or the enhanced version there's only 1 version though.

Seriously every single one of those models is shockingly bad. Why would you want to have an Essex Tramp lookalike as a protaganists partner?

Widescreen just worked with the latest patch.

For the FOV I use the script hack.

Go to Far Cry\FCData
Create a backup of SCRIPTS.pak
Rename SCRIPTS.pak to SCRIPTS.pak.zip
Extract it and load up SCRIPTS\Default\Hud\ZoomView.lua in a text editor
Change the NoZoom line so that it's:

NoZoom = <fov> * 3.1415962 / 180,

Save the LUA file
Pack it all back up into SCRIPTS.pak.zip and rename it back to SCRIPTS.pak
Run the game, once a level starts go to scope view and back out, and you should be in your new FOV. You need to do it once per level unfortunately.

For the FOV, I use 108 for 1920x1600. Not sure what you'd need for other resolutions.
My line looks like:

. I don't think anyone is under any illusion that it is anything other than a game tbh.

TBH the updated alex still looks like the same race as before, but the old model looks like the babe next door and more real. Now she looks like a Zoo or Nuts model, the kind you can never hope to pull

The one in this picture just looks white to me, or if I was forced to pick another ethnicity I'd probably say "very slightly" Latino. As far as I am aware Alyx Vance is just black, but I don't remember what race her mother was from the photograph you found in Black Mesa.

Just breaks suspension of disbelief for me.
